MIKE SPINELLI: Hey, welcome to Drive Central.
Here's where you can find out all those things going on on
Drive this week.
Hit us up facebook.com/drivetv and @drive on Twitter.
The teleprompter is broken today.
Let's see if I can do this thing.
Leo Parente is with me.
LEO PARENTE: I didn't know you were going to have me on.
MIKE SPINELLI: Well, you were here in the office.
And I roped you in.
LEO PARENTE: And you know, there's been a lot of talk
about me overdressing for Drive.
So I didn't shave.
MIKE SPINELLI: Well, that's one way to go.
LEO PARENTE: And I also didn't overdress by--
I'm not wearing pants.
MIKE SPINELLI: You took your pants off?
LEO PARENTE: Well, I'm not going to give
up the sport coat.
MIKE SPINELLI: Well, you know--
LEO PARENTE: So I don't want to overdress.
MIKE SPINELLI: OK.
LEO PARENTE: So pants.
MIKE SPINELLI: Nice belt.
LEO PARENTE: Shall we proceed?
MIKE SPINELLI: Yes, yes, this week on Tuned, it's the last
show of the season.
And Matt Farah gives his recap of what
happened this past season.
Let's take a look at a clip.
-You'll hit 60 miles an hour a full second faster.
You'll hit the quarter mile almost two
seconds faster than stock.
And if you're going to be out there jumping dunes and racing
your buddies, it's nice to know that your Raptor is
faster than his Raptor.
MATT FARAH: VelociRaptor hits close to home.
And the story is basically my relationship with the Raptor.
Should I or should I not supercharge it from Hennessey?
First, let's say this.
We made several Hennessey films because in order for us
to travel somewhere, we have to make multiple films.
Because Hennessey tunes a wide variety of vehicles, it seemed
only logical that while we were there and he had the cars
there and he said, go at it, that we should
film multiple vehicles.
So with that being said, the VelociRaptor 600 is an
interesting package.
It feels stock when you're off the gas.
It sacrifices virtually nothing except the initial
cost of the kit.
And it does 0 to 60 in five and a half seconds, tops out
at 120 miles an hour, and is just ridiculous.
And I absolutely love it.
It was fun.
So most criticisms of this video are that, let's see.

Lincoln from YouTube says, "What do you need that power
for, [BEEP]
small [BEEP]
losers?"
[LAUGHTER]
MATT FARAH: You need that power, Lincoln,
because it's awesome.
And if you don't get it, you shouldn't be watching a show
called Tuned, you [BEEP].
Over the course of that video, Zach tried to encourage me to
get the kit because it wouldn't ruin the practicality
of my current Raptor.
And Chubbyhong, who has just an awesome YouTube user name,
points out, "LOL, Zach is an idiot.
Obviously, all your gear is going to fit into the truck."
Actually Chubbyhong is an idiot because he didn't
remotely get the joke.
MIKE SPINELLI: There, that's Tuned, every
Monday here on Drive.
Are those Lee Riders?
LEO PARENTE: Darrell Waltrip, no, no--
MIKE SPINELLI: Darrell Waltrip edition.
LEO PARENTE: They're Darrell Waltrip edition from my trip
to Virginia.
MIKE SPINELLI: Fantastic.
LEO PARENTE: Yeah.
MIKE SPINELLI: Walmart?
LEO PARENTE: Yeah, express- I saw a Walmart Express.
MIKE SPINELLI: What's that?
A drive-through?
LEO PARENTE: I have no idea.
I live in New York.
MIKE SPINELLI: They only sell guns.
LEO PARENTE: I don't know that.
[LAUGHTER]
MIKE SPINELLI: This week on Live and Let Drive, Alex Roy
goes to Latvia.
LEO PARENTE: Wow.
MIKE SPINELLI: Apparently--
LEO PARENTE: Wow.
MIKE SPINELLI: According to Drive crew who've been there,
it's the most awesome country in the world.
Let's take a look at that.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
ALEX ROY: Otto might be Latvian, but I don't see
anything resembling the Latvia he described.
I mean, look at this place.
Well actually, it's quite beautiful.
But he said the country was incredibly modern.
That it was industrialized, high growth rate country.
And it doesn't look anything like that to me.
It looks like the set from "Band of Brothers." It does.
And also, I can't believe how many wood houses there are.
Because everyone knows that wood is the finest insulation
material possible in a country that's colder than Iceland,
but come on.
I mean, it is beautiful.

We're lost.
I'm turning on the GPS.

Secret location, Riga, Latvia--
between a middle school, an ice hockey rink, there appears
to be an orphanage, is this shooting range where I will
now fire Kalashnikovs as much as possible
before I'm kicked out.
[GUN SHOT]
[GUN SHOT]
[GUN SHOT]
[GUN SHOT]
[GUN SHOT]
[GUN SHOT]
FEMALE SPEAKER: You shot ski man on this thing.
ALEX ROY: Ohh, so this is the [INAUDIBLE] not shooting.
FEMALE SPEAKER: [INAUDIBLE] not shooting.
ALEX ROY: So I'm taking this home to show Jane what happens
when I'm crossed.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
LEO PARENTE: So what do you call
people from Latvia anyway?
MIKE SPINELLI: Latviantonians?
LEO PARENTE: Latvantageous, Latvantagians.
MIKE SPINELLI: That's what you get on the airplane.
[LAUGHTER]
LEO PARENTE: With the little Latvian [INAUDIBLE].
MIKE SPINELLI: Exactly.
Live and Let Drive every Tuesday.
And this week on Chris Harris on Cars, I actually don't know
because Chris hasn't gotten back to me.
LEO PARENTE: Let's guess.
Chris.
MIKE SPINELLI: Yep.
LEO PARENTE: Cool car.
MIKE SPINELLI: Yep.
LEO PARENTE: Lot of steering.
MIKE SPINELLI: Yep.
LEO PARENTE: Opposite lock.
MIKE SPINELLI: Um.
LEO PARENTE: UK accent.
MIKE SPINELLI: UK--
exactly.
Let's take a look.
LEO PARENTE: Chris Harris on Cars, every week.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
[BEEPING]
MIKE SPINELLI: And this week on Road Testament, Matt Farah
was still with us because he came to town.
We did like three shows.
LEO PARENTE: He's like a homeless guy.
He never leaves.
He's like hanging out at the bus depot.
[LAUGHTER]
MIKE SPINELLI: And it's a very special surprise show that
you'll see.
LEO PARENTE: With Matt and Punky Brewster.
MIKE SPINELLI: Exactly.
LEO PARENTE: Right, that's another old joke.
MIKE SPINELLI: But--
LEO PARENTE: What?
MIKE SPINELLI: Your show this week.
LEO PARENTE: I'm going to bond with the Italians.
MIKE SPINELLI: Do I ask?
LEO PARENTE: I better not lean back too much.
[LAUGHTER]
MIKE SPINELLI: We don't want any floor show.
LEO PARENTE: I'm not wearing any pants.
[LAUGHTER]
LEO PARENTE: But I'm excited because I'm going to be going
to visit Maserati.
MIKE SPINELLI: Apparently so.
LEO PARENTE: Yeah, apparently so.
MIKE SPINELLI: You're going to visit Maserati?
LEO PARENTE: But they're coming to the US actually, the
Maserati World Series, the Trofeo--
MIKE SPINELLI: Yeah, the Trofeo World Series.
LEO PARENTE: So their Maserati racing series, they're coming.
And they're going to be at the world touring car event that's
going to be at Sears Point.
MIKE SPINELLI: Cool, very cool the world touring car is
coming to the Americas.
LEO PARENTE: So we're going.
And there was this rumor that I had a chance to drive in the
series as the celebrity guest.
[LAUGHTER]
LEO PARENTE: Yeah right, exactly.
And then they defined--
MIKE SPINELLI: I'm mean, I'm not laughing at you.
LEO PARENTE: No, no, you can because then they defined the
word celebrity.
Apparently, it's Patrick Dempsey.
MIKE SPINELLI: Well, there you go.
LEO PARENTE: So I had no shot in hell.
MIKE SPINELLI: So it's McSteamy versus Mc--
LEO PARENTE: Dreamy in my head, I'm a
race car driver, right?
So anyway, we're going to go to that and get a chance to
drive some Maseratis and find out why everyone forgets
they're a great car and watch the racing and see if we can
get in and see the world touring cars.
MIKE SPINELLI: It's very cool that World Touring Car
Championship is coming to America though, right?
LEO PARENTE: I like it when global series come to the US
to visit rather than--
MIKE SPINELLI: You don't want them to
stay too long is that--
LEO PARENTE: No, no, no, no, what I was going to say is
Grandon was talking about having their own DTM series.
MIKE SPINELLI: Oh, yeah.
LEO PARENTE: Remember that, before the merger thing?
Well, that went away.
I'd rather have the real DTM come visit.
MIKE SPINELLI: And apparently it is coming.
LEO PARENTE: Here with touring car it's
really coming to visit.
DTM's coming I guess in '14 or something.
But I want to see the real BMWs, the real Chevy Cruze,
the real SEAT Leon.
MIKE SPINELLI: OK.
LEO PARENTE: All those cars.
MIKE SPINELLI: Yep.
LEO PARENTE: Little turbo cars.
MIKE SPINELLI: Sure.
LEO PARENTE: Remember Chevy, with their big Cruze?
MIKE SPINELLI: Yeah.
LEO PARENTE: They're going away next year.
So I want to see the cars before they're gone.
MIKE SPINELLI: And that's the thing, I want to see more
racing where you turn left in America.
And I think that's all looking very good.
LEO PARENTE: Left and right.
MIKE SPINELLI: More than going left.
LEO PARENTE: Thank you.
MIKE SPINELLI: Did I say--
more than just going left.
LEO PARENTE: Who listens?
MIKE SPINELLI: I don't know.
Who cares?
LEO PARENTE: Yeah, right.
MIKE SPINELLI: That's Shakedown.
When's your show?
LEO PARENTE: Every Monday and Friday.
MIKE SPINELLI: Yeah.
LEO PARENTE: On Drive.
MIKE SPINELLI: On Drive, yes.
LEO PARENTE: On Drive.
MIKE SPINELLI: Drive shirts, I think our shirts are in again,
so get your shirts.
LEO PARENTE: Yes, we went through our inventory.
MIKE SPINELLI: I know.
You guys are buying shirts like mad.
LEO PARENTE: That's great.
MIKE SPINELLI: That's crazy.
You're like shirt fiends.
LEO PARENTE: We should have--
MIKE SPINELLI: And now we're selling pants.
LEO PARENTE: Next year, Drive pants, just in
time for the holidays.
MIKE SPINELLI: Shakedown Lee Riders.
[LAUGHTER]
MIKE SPINELLI: Facebook.com/drivetv, @drive
on Twitter, and we will see you next week on Drive Central
or "Dree-Vay-Sin-Tral."
LEO PARENTE: You realize, I'm so short if I get up, you
still wouldn't see my balls.
[LAUGHTER]
LEO PARENTE: Shall I, shall I, shall I, no.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
