Hi, it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we’re going to show you how to change a surface
element on your range. Really easy job, no tools required; let me show you how we do
it.
The 1st step in this repair will be to make sure we have the surface controls turned off;
that there is no heat on any of the burners.
We’re simply going to pick up on the back side of the burner, pull it straight out.
Before we replace it we want to look carefully at the terminals; if there’s any signs of
discoloration or arcing we will need to replace the terminal block that is located underneath
the main top.
To install the new burner make sure that the terminals are straight, if you meet some resistance
just push forward, and hook the back side of the element frame in the slot on the burner
bowl.
Check the operation by turning on that surface burner, turn it back off, and our repair is
complete.
