Hi, thanks for joining me today...
and welcome to another addition of my 12 weeks of Halloween.
This is what we are making today.
It is on one of the sticks you can get in the baking department, 6" Lollipop Stick
You can insert this into the top of a cupcake..
Or if you don't want to buy the sticks, you can attach it to a large paper clip.
First we are going to punch out the body...
of the owl, using the Owl Punch.
We are going to punch out 2 of those out of Old Olive card stock.
Now we are going to punch out the larger part of the eyes with Cajun Craze card stock.
Next, we will punch out the smaller part of his eyes with Whisper White card stock.
And the 2 little black pieces for his eyes out of Basic Black card stock.
For the hat we are going to use the Petite Pennant Builder Punch...
We are going to punch out just this one with Basic Black card stock.
For his chest I am going to use the Designer Paper , Old Olive from the Brights Collection DSP.
For the strip here...
I'm just going to cut a piece with my scissors.
Let's start assembling this...
I am first going to attach this piece using the Multi Purpose Liquid Glue.
If you wanted you could decorate both sides, I'm just doing one side.
Take your scissors and just trim this...
and go ahead and cut this..
Apply adhesive to the hat where you want the stripe to go..
lay this across and then I am going to trim it.
Let's go ahead and make the broomstick..
We don't have this punch any more, but it works great for this..
But if you want to cut out a piece of card stock that looks like that, it doesn't have to be exact..
You could use this and just see and trim it...
like that, it would be perfect..
Start at the wide end..
and I just cut little slivers about half way up the card stock.
Maybe that is to thick so I can just pull of one..
Now for the bottom piece, I just cut a little bit of card stock..
Attach the bottom piece with adhesive..
Ok now for this piece...
the broom handle, I just cut a small piece of Crumb Cake card stock..
Attach the broom to the handle with adhesive..
Let's go ahead and finish the owl..
first we are going to work on the eyes. Attach the Whisper White circles to the larger Cajun Craze circle with adhesive...
then attach the small Basic Black circles to the Whisper White.
Then attach the eyes to the body...
Attach the hat..
You kind of want to slide his hat a little under his eyes..
Attach the broom handle with adhesive...
Remember to let this dry before you give it away...
Ok so now let's attach the owl to the stick...
Put a Mini Glue Dot on his left side...
and his right side...
I'm also going to add a glue dot to the stick...
then just attach the back of the owl..
The last part is we are going to take a 7" strip of Black Taffeta Ribbon and tie a bow around the stick.
As I'm comparing them this broom is a little long, I'm just going to trim it...
