Marcia Hopkins, Sociology Student (IUP Hawks Talk)

The Sociology Department, I think, is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened
to me. I really enjoy the program; the professors are really nice. They’re really indulged
in what we want to learn. They really encourage a lot of discussion, a lot of talk about how
we feel, because Sociology is about interactions with people; with everyday life. It’s about
the who, the what, the why, and the how. We look at a lot of different things, a lot of
aspects in cultures. So, because IUP is becoming more diverse, they always want to know how
we feel about Sociology and what do we think about different things going on in the world,
whether it be in politics or just a college education.
