How To Make Stuffed Baked Cucumber : Finely Chopping Onions For Stuffed Baked Cucumbers

Uploaded by expertvillage on 22.01.2008

Hi, this is Rich Buccola here in New York City. And today, on behalf of Expert Village,
I'm going to show you how to make stuffed cucumbers. All right, so we have our big pieces
of onion here, and you don't want to have big pieces. If you see little pieces of skin,
make sure you pull them out. No one likes that. And what you're going to do then is
just keeping the point of the blade on the board, just working the back of the knife
up and down to chop down real small and fine pieces of the onion. A good trick for not
crying is don't lean over the onion as you're cutting because all the fumes from the onion
will come up and you'll be crying. But if that should happen, hey, just tell everybody
you have a sad story or something. I don't know. Well, I like to have fun in the kitchen.
I always try to tell stories. I try to tell stories here, but then I wind up talking too
much. So anyway, with that said, I'm going to chop this up real fine. It might be a little
bit too much onion here. If that's the case, I'll just save it in a sandwich bag and use
it for whatever -- whatever else I use. I mean, I use onions pretty much three, four
times a week in the kitchen, so I always save everything I use. Come back, I'll show you
how nice and fine this should be chopped. Keep working it. It is stuffed cucumbers here
on Expert Village.
