I offer this movie unto the very same Lotus Feet of the Supreme Lord Vishnu that I captured in camera, in their original form, at His Temple, in the holy place of pilgrimage of Gayā. I wish to express my indebtedness to the Temple Chief Priest and his assistants who made this possible, with their pure devotional attitude and cooperation. Praṇām. - Śrī Vimal Ray, Director

Miśra Mahāśaya, you are a person of unlimited good fortune!
I examined the astrological chart of your new born child and came to my conclusions.
He is an avatar incarnation of the Supreme Lord.
He will be the shining glory of your dynasty.
My father-in-law, Nilāmbara Chakravarti mahāśaya, had made the same observation.
He surely would have.
You will see that in my calculations also, there will be no mistake.
He will be one without a second in the preaching of the Absolute Greatness of Śrī Kṛṣṇa in Navadvīpa.
Really? What are you saying?
Unfortunately, Navadvīpa is currently the center of tantriks.
Yes. True.
That is why He has taken birth in this city.
It is He who will rescue the country from all varieties of anti-vedic and deviant activities that are currently going on.
Alright. May I take leave for the day?
Oh. Sure. Please do come again.
I will provide the detailed calculations on your horoscope tomorrow.
Its alright. Whatever suits you.
- Praṇām - Come again.
You ....ummm.......talked about all this before Mesamāli?
If you ever heard about the activities of Cāpāla Gopāla and his disciples, you will be astounded.
Kāli Karāla Vadanā (O Goddess Kali, armed with a sword...)
Viniśkrāntāsi Pāṣini (...and holding a rope weapon)
Vicitra ghatvāngadhāra naramālā vibhūṣanāh (Her sword is of special powers, and she wears a garland of human skulls.)
Mother! O mother! Glory to mother Kāli.
Please accept, O beautiful one!
I have sanctified it. You may now drink it.
- But......but that is an intoxicating drink..... - No, No, No, it is not an intoxicant, it is ambrosia...gulp it down all at once.
No, No, I can't have it. Please do not ask me to drink it, O Gurudeva!
Are you going to disobey the instructions of your Master?
But I am a woman. How can a woman take intoxicants?
- No! If I knew that my spiritual practice would involve the consumption of intoxicants, I would never have come here! - You would not have come?!
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
But since you have come to me, you have no escape.
- Please let me go! - Wait!
All paths leading out of this place are closed.
Go into that room and be quiet!
I have encircled you with a spell.
If you try to escape , you will die of fright.
- Go! Go right away! - I'm going...I'm going.
You think you can leave? Having come here no one leaves! She says she wants to go away!
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.........
Gurudeva, Gurudeva?
Gurudeva!
A terrible thing has happened.
Navadvīpa will no longer remain the Center of Excellence for Tāntriks.
- Why? - I had been to the house of jyotiṣa ācārya bābā.
There, ācārya deva examined the astrological chart of the son of Jagannātha Miśra , and said that his Son will preach the holy name of Śrī Kṛṣṇa and over flood Navadvīpa.
Tantriks will lose their rights over Navadvīpa, making way for the rigid and strict Vaiṣṇava way of life.
Hmmm....well......what is the age of the child?
About two or three years.
Remember the year there was a lunar eclipse at the time of the phālgūni pūrṇimā? He was born at that time.
Oh. Then that is an advantage to us. Listen carefully........
- Don't cry, my son. - What has happened? Why is Viśvambhara crying?
Iśana has left the young boy near his brother and gone away. Please look into the situation.
Viśvarūpa is oblivious of the baby boy, being engrossed in his studies.
- And the little boy has gone to my room and ascended the throne of Lord Nārāyaṇa while playing with a snake! - Is that so? - Yes
- By the grace of God my son has been saved. - No. No. No. Dont cry my little child. Its a shame to cry.
I will bring you nice toys - lots of nice little toys. Be good now, be good.
Don't cry my son, don't cry.

Wonderful! It was a very nice song.
O little Ṭhākura, did you like the song?
Your songs are surely most wonderful. Please come over everyday, take what you need from us, and teach my Nimāi how to sing.
He always seems to go into a trance when he hears your songs
All due to His grace, my mother.
Your son is no ordinary child. A strange force draws me here everyday.
When I sing to him, it feels as if I am singing to God

Upon hearing these words, Śrī Rādhā swooned in the lap of her sakhi Lalitā while all the other sakhīs sat around Her.

Sakhi Lalitā cried and said these words again...
Nidoya hoye lukiye keno (Why this cruelty to us? Why do you hide? )
Dekhā dāo murāri. (Please come back to us, O Enemy of Mur)
O Kaṭaka Ṭhākura, I have arrived.
Hey! What do you think you are doing? What is happening?
Its the child! Just see what the child is up to!
Most surprising. Jagannātha has spoilt his child with too much love and pampering.
- You ruined the song! - Please continue singing, Kaṭaka Ṭhākura.
- Bābā! - Who is that?
- Its me. Our efforts have been successful. - Meaning? - The 'Avatāra' has changed completely!
Everything about Him has changed. He makes a funny face whenever He sees a Kaustubha jewel...
...and his pranks at home are upsetting everyone.
- Heḥ Heḥ Heḥ heḥ Heḥ Heḥ - I knew this would happen.
My mantra never fails.
I will expel the Vaiṣṇavas from Navadvīpa by the power of my mantras.
You are are indeed capable of that, Bābā. By the power of your mantras, the impossible becomes possible.
The Pancha-mantra is great. It is capable of destroying the Haribhakti of Jagannātha. Indeed it can make him do anything that we want. Ha Ha Ha Ha..........
- Why are you suddenly offering me prāṇām at the evening time? - Is there a time or place to offer prāṇām to my own mother? - Everything about you is unconventional.
You are busy with your books all night and day. It does not seem that you are interested in me or any other family member.
I think of everyone, Mā. You don't understand. Like today, while I was studying this book, it struck me that I should give it to Nimāi. Thats why this book....
- What will Nimāi do with this book? - When he grows up and starts his educational life, then you may give it to him.
- Then you should give it to him. - In any case, please keep it with you, Mā
OK. Give it to me.
Viśvarūpa? Viśvarūpa? Viśvarūpa?
Why are you sleeping so late today? Viśvarūpa? Why are you silent? Viśvarūpa?
Strange! Where has Viśvarūpa gone? Viśvarūpa?
Viśvarūpa, Viśvarūpa!
Viśvarūpa, Viśvarūpa! Where has my Viśvarūpa gone? Viśvarūpa, Viśvarūpa!
- Oh dear. My Viśvarūpa has gone away. Please help me! - Viśvarūpa has gone away? Then let me... - ...wait, wait....
...I am going...to see where he is.....you are not well...you stay here...I am going.
- ...I am going - Oh dear! I have lost everything! Viśvarūpa, Viśvarūpa!
Auṁ. Auṁ.
Nimāi? Nimāi?.......Nimāi
Here is your Nimāi.
I bless you that your religious vow may meet with success.
You will obtain your salvation through sannyāsa.
- What? - Father, O Father
Here are your new clothes as prescribed by the Vedas
Father! Father! Father!
Patitoddhāriṇi Gaṅge - Mā (O saviour of the fallen, O mother Gaṅgā)
Paḍi, Hari bhava sukha duḥkhe jakhana āmi (O Hari, when I am afflicted by the sufferings and happiness of the world...)
Śāyīta antima śayane (..and I lie down to sleep for the last time...)
Bariṣa śravaṇe tava jalakara rava (...please shower into my ears, the sound of your voice like the flow of these waters...)
Bariṣa supti mora nayane ...and sprinkle deep sleep over my eyes...)
Bariṣa santi mama śaṅkita prāṇe (...and shower tranquility to my frightened mind...)
Bariṣa amrita mama aṅge (...and sprinkle immortality on my limbs.)
Ma Bhāgīrathī, Jāhnavī, Suradhani (O mother Gaṅgā...)
Kalakallolini Gaṅge (O Mother Gaṅgā, whose waters surge and sing)
Patitoddhāriṇi Gange - Ma (O saviour of the fallen, O mother Gaṅgā)
There you are Nimāi, come here
Good boy. Sit down, son.
What manuscript have you brought, son?
Pāṇini's Vyākaraṇa (grammar).
Pāṇini's Vyākaraṇa?
Have you studied Pāṇini's Vyākaraṇa?
My father taught me some of it.
Great. So then we may start our lessons from Pāṇini's Vyākaraṇa.
Listen Nimāi. If you are interested in further knowledge of the complexities of Nyāya śāstra, there is only one person who can help you.
- Who? - Vāsudeva Sārvabhauma
Having memorized the complete Nyāya śāstra of Mithilā, he has opened his school here in Navadvīpa.
If you study at his institute, you will obtain great benefit.
- Do I have your permission? - Nimāi, you have my whole-hearted support and permission.
- Jaya Gurudeva. - Welcome.
You have my blessings. May you be successful.
Yes. Gaṅgādāsa has spoken about you.
It is good that you have chosen to study Nyāya. But remember, this śāstra is most difficult and extremely complex.
- Raghunātha - Yes sir. - Please explain to Nimāi his first lesson. - Yes sir
Come brother. Sit down.
It strikes me, Nimāi, that you mentioned that you have not studied Nyāya śāstra. And yet you answered all the questions correctly.
- I have studied a little. - Even then, acquiring this little knowledge is not an easy task
- Within a short span of time, how did you acquire so much knowledge? - What is so surprising about this? - It certainly is astonishing.
- Come on. Let us go. I have to cross the river by boat. - Lets go then.
Hari he! (O my Lord Hari!)
Āmāra ei pāglā tori kāra hate di, baiṭhe dhori (Who can I entrust this boat of mine that has gone berserk? Who will take up its oars?)
O Hari, Ogo Hari, Ogo Hari, Ogo Hari (O Hari, O my lord Hari, O my lord Hari, O my lord Hari)
Āmāra ei pāglā tori kāra hāte di, baiṭhe dhori (Who can I entrust this boat of mine that has gone berserk? Who will take up its oars?)
O Hari, Ogo Hari, Ogo Hari, Ogo Hari (O Hari, O my lord Hari, O my lord Hari, O my lord Hari)
Āmāra ei pāglā tori kāra hāte di, baiṭhe dhori (Who can I entrust this boat of mine that has gone berserk? Who will take up its oars?)
Āji ei belāra śeṣe (Now at day's end...)
Tori jāya acina deśe (...the boat heads towards unknown lands...)
Āji ei belāra śeṣe, tori jāya acina deśe (Now at day's end this boat heads towards unknown lands.)
Tobu tora sohe na, jāi utari (But I am impatient and I must alight)
Ogo Hari, Ogo Hari, Ogo Hari (O my lord Hari, O my lord Hari, O my lord Hari)
Āmāra ei pāglā tori kāra hāte di, baiṭhe dhori (Who can I entrust this boat of mine that has gone berserk? Who will take up its oars?)
Dūrera ai abchayāla, monera ei surera kāla (The distant shadows, the darkness of this song...)
Yadi go kripā kari lao he dhari, O Ṭhākura, lau he dhari, sei to bhālo. (If you hold me, by your mercy, O God, that will be the best)
Hari he! Nibhe jāya konera pradīpa, dikera nāhi je nirīk (O Hari, the lamp in the corner flickers out and there is no end in sight in any direction)
Tomāra dhruba tāra ujala karo patha bhari (Please illuminate the path with your Pole Star)
Ogo Hari, Ogo Hari, Ogo Hari (O my lord Hari, O my lord Hari, O my lord Hari)
Āmāra ei pāgla tori kāra hāte di, baiṭhe dhori (Who can I entrust this boat of mine that has gone berserk? Who will take up its oars?)
O Hari, Ogo Hari, Ogo Hari, Ogo Hari (O Hari, O my lord Hari, O my lord Hari, O my lord Hari)
- You seem to be deep in thought. - No.
He was singing a very beautiful song. Thats why I was listening.
If you study Nyāya śāstra, its doubtful if you will enjoy the mellows of music.
Why? Do you not enjoy the songs of the holy names of God?
There is no God but the these śāstras...
...and that śāstra is Nyāya
I am writing a commentary on the Nyāya śāstra. You will see one day, people all over will sing its praises.
I am also writing one. But...
What? Did you read all of it?
I just realized after reading the first chapter, that all that I have toiled for during my entire life was just useless labor.
If anyone reads your commentary, they will not care for mine.
Is life all about writing commentaries on the Nyāya Śāstras?
To me, it is.
But to me it is insignificant.
What did you do? Your entire life's effort........
Insignificant.......utterly insignificant.
There are things that are superior to all of this, Raghunātha.
There are things in life that are far more important than all of this...
...inside the heart.
- Mother - What, son?
My studies at the school has finished.
I am now thinking to open my own school at home.
It is a very good decision, to open your own school at home. But before that, you have to listen to what I have to say.
- What is that, mother? - Vallabhācārya has a daughter.
Her name is Lakshmipriyā. I have heard that she is a very nice girl. Banamāli was saying....
- Why are you silent? - I have to open the school before my marriage.
That's alright. The marriage will be over in just one night. You can open the school and marry at the same time. Do you agree?
- Marriage? - You have to marry. There will be no peace for me unless Lakshmi Devī graces our household.
Listen. I have been thinking hard for the last few days. And time and again, I have come to the same conclusion - that it is not sufficient to just study the scriptures.
We have to think from the heart about the One who is the essence of all scriptures, the One who steers us through life, - Śrī Hari.
Education is successful only if accompanied by internal meditation.
I have studied the Nyāya Śāstra for many years. I found logic to be its only essence. It does not cause even a scratch in the mind and neither does it move the heart.
And yet, I can understand, that my mind is dissatisfied because I cannot serve the One who resides and plays in the lotus of the heart.
Nimāi, Nimāi.
Hello Nimāi. I heard that you are nowadays singing the praises of Lord Hari.
That should not cause any one any inconvenience, Cāpāla Ṭhākura.
Navadvīpa is famous for Tantra sādhana. And in this very place you.....
Why? Does Lord Hari have no place in Navadvīpa?
No. He has no place! Remember this - all the nonsense that you are are preaching to the people, by deceiving them, will have dire results!
O ṭhākura. I am not working for any results.
I am just doing what my mind tells me to do.
I have no objection if you leave the worship of Mother Goddess and go to hell. But I will not tolerate your converting everyone into a 'Vaiśṇava'.
Cāpāla Ṭhākura. Mother Goddess has asked me to serve Lord Hari because of the very reason that her worship is not being done properly.
In my type of worship there are no mantras, no restrictions, just the chanting of His holy names from the heart, with tears in your eyes.
That itself is freedom, that itself is liberation.
Indeed! There is liberation in Harinām but not in the name of the Mother Goddess!
There certainly is. It is only people like you who have blocked the path to the Mother Goddess, ṭhākura.
But my lover is waiting outside just to be called.
Indeed! You are blaspheming the Mother Goddess! You will be ruined forever. That is all I have to say to you.
He is a mad man. Totally mad.
Students, please continue your studies while I have my bath.
- Ratnākara, do you want to go? - Yes, Master - Alright. Come again.
Keshava kuru karuṇā bine, kuñja kānana cāri ((There is no way) devoid of the mercy of Keshava, the Wanderer of the Forests)
Mādhava mana mohana, mohana muralī dhari (Mādhava, Enticer of the mind, enticing Player of the flute)
Keshava kuru karuṇā bine, kuñja kānana cāri ((There is no way) devoid of the mercy of Keshava, the Wanderer of the Forests)
Haribol, Haribol, Haribol, Hari...
- Mukunda, why did you stop singing and run away upon seeing me? - No. Nothing. I am coming right away.
O crown jewel of the Vaiśṇavas! One day I am going to bind you in such a way, that you can never run away from me.
You know Ratnākara, vaiṣṇavas think that I am a great offender. But they do not know that one day I shall become such a vaiṣṇava, that Lord Śiva himself will come to my doorstep.
You desire to be a vaiṣṇava? He who has this desire is blessed. May you obtain Kṛṣṇa and attain His lotus feet.
- You are...? - I am Īsvarapūri, I am just an insignificant servant of my Prabhu. You? - I am Nimāi. - Oh! Nimāi paṇḍita?
- I have heard that you are a great learned scholar. I am so fortunate. - No, no. That is no achievement.
Its alright. I am lucky to meet you. I had come to Navadvīpa to to discuss a vaiṣṇava book that I had written. In case there are any errors, I would like to have it verified. If you can kindly review it, then...
Can there be any mistakes in a book which describes God and His devotees?
What are you saying? I have heard that your are a Master of Nyāya.
Its remarkable! Do you have such love of Godhead?
Please bless me! May I attain ever-increasing devotion to Godhead. May my pride of learning be removed.
I bless you that you may attain Kṛṣṇa.
When the śuktā mixed vegetable curry is ready, start cooking the moca banana flower.
I have heard that you are an expert in this type of cooking.
And one more thing. Though Nimāi is the teacher of his school,he is still a child and is very moody.
- He is totally oblivious of the world. So please keep an eye on him, his comforts and discomforts. - Mother.
- Yes, son. - Today Ramaidā is going to his native place. I think I will also go in the evening with him.
- But that's so far away. How will you go there alone? - I am not going alone.
- My school students are coming with me. - Then please take my daughter-in-law with you.
I am going to Śrī Haṭṭa. I may have to travel by boat and walk long distances. How can she go?
- Then? - Don't worry mother. I will leave this evening and return very soon within a few days. - Alright.
The day of union has arrived, full of sweet aromas
The day of union has arrived, full of poetic rhythm.
Sweet sounds the nupūra jingle bells...
A guest arrives...full of dreams...
There is a fair of wine and drink today on the shores of beauty...
Thats why this song is out of tune......
...that is why my heart swings with intoxication and is happy...and I am tottering......
A guest has arrived.....restless and full of dreams.
- Sir? - Who is that? - Who?
- Sir, A brahmin wants to see you. He says its very urgent. - Brahmin? Why at this odd time?
-What? Tell him we cannot see him now. - Tell we cannot see him now. - He says he is in great trouble and seeks your help.
Trouble? Who can be in more trouble than us? - What trouble? - I do not know, sir - You don't know? Alright. Bring him. - No.
- Alright. Send him. - Alright. Send him.
Alright. Send him.
Sir?
- What is the news? - Sir, yesterday night the tāntrik took my elder daughter.
- I have heard that she is with Cāpāla Gopāla. - Very good. She is in the right place. Nothing to be worried about. What do you think, chordā (younger brother)? - You are absolutely right.
- She has gone to a religious place. Nothing to worry. - Its unfortunate that you say this, being the protectors of this city. - Yes. That is what we believe. Are you telling us what to do?
- I have nothing to say. The tāntriks who...... - Shut up! Stop your nonsense. How dare you talk against the tāntriks in this house?
- Do you know that we are also tāntriks? - What do you know of the sādhana of the five ma-kāras? - Get out! Get out! Get out!
There is nothing that can be done, O mother. It is all written down by the Unseen One.
- I understand everything, Ishan. But what will I tell Nimāi when he arrives? - He is intelligent. He will understand everything.
Do not worry. Do not worry, mother.
Mother?
Mother, I have come back.
- Brother Ishāna, what has happened to mother?
.....nothing....
- A few days before you arrived your wife (bou didimoni) was........ - My wife? What happened to my wife? Please tell me brother Ishāna.
....bitten by a snake.
- Can no one find the girl? - No. And even if she were to be found, how will she be rescued?
- The father is begging and appealing to everyone. I heard that he has even complained to Jagāi and Mādhāi.
He has gone to the right place! They will rescue her from the tantrik and bring her for their own enjoyment.
O God! They are doing all kinds of sinful acts in the name of God. Why is there no protest?
God has proclaimed in the Gītā, that He personally manifests himself on earth to punish the evil. Is this no longer true ācārya deva?
Why will it be untrue? How much do we know? Who knows whether He will come or whether He is already here?
Ācārya Śrīvāsa, I have arrived.
Please come. You are welcome, O scholar.
You invited me the other day. That is why I am here.
Even in my dreams, I could never imagine that I will be so fortunate to receive a scholar like you at my own home. Please come in and sit down.
Even if you had not invited me, I would have come. You are a vaiṣṇava, and I am the servant of the servant of a vaiṣṇava.
No, no. What are you saying? Please do not make me an offender.
I am telling the truth. My pride of scholarship has been destroyed. Teach me that by which my pride of knowledge, wealth and creed are all turned to ashes.
What do you say, O scholar! I am just an ordinary , ignorant vaiṣṇava. What do I know?
I know , Śrīvāsa, that you have cherished your knowledge deep within your heart. But I am Nimāi. The same naughty Nimāi that you you have known in your village. since long.
Beware. one day I will rob you of everything!
He Govinda, He Gopāla, Yashoda nayana avirāma. (O Govinda, O Gopāla, eternally beheld by the eyes of Yashoda.)

Yashoda nayana avirāma. He Govinda, He Gopāla, Yashoda nayana avirāma. (...eternally beheld by the eyes of Yashoda. O Govinda, O Gopāla, )
- Priya? - Mother?
- Yes Mother? - You have already completed your pūjā. Are you still singing? Its time to bring water from the river. - Yes I am going.
- Masima (aunt)? - Who is it? Mādhavī? Come in.
My mother sent you some money for offering bhoga to Gopāla on the occasion of the engagement of my sister Ritu.
Oh really? That is good news. Your mother is fortunate. She has got a son-in-law soon. God only knows what lies in store for us.
- You have just one beautiful daughter. Why are you so worried? - When the daughter grows up, all mothers begin to feel worried.
You need not worry about your daughter. She is like the goddess Lakshmi, in her appearance and her qualities. Besides she is so devoted to Kṛṣṇa. She will surely get a good husband.
- Do wish that that happens my little lady. May Gopāla have mercy on her. - He will surely bless her. Viṣṇupriyā will surely meet with Viṣṇu!
Oṁ agnaye svāhā............... (Oṁ. Let this be an offering to Agni deva...........)
- What happened? - Its nothing. She is just a little hurt.
- How unfortunate! - Hold her......Slowly, slowly......
Oh!
What happened?
Are you scared?
You did not sleep at all?
Come here.
- Are you troubled in this new household? - No, not at all.
- Why should I feel troubled? - Is it because you hurt your feet? - No. My feet are alright now.
- But...... - What?
- I am just thinking.......can I tolerate such luxury? I fear. - Fear what?
Why did I stumble upon entering the house?
You are just a crazy girl. You are like Lakshmi. That is why you stumbled upon entering a house where there is no Lakshmi.
If you ever talk like that, I will go away.
I'm sorry. Don't get angry. I will never talk like that again.
Hello there.
I have found you at last.
- You must be Nimāi Paṇḍita? - Yes. My name is Nimāi.
But I am not a paṇḍita.
- You? - I am Keśava Kāśmīrī. I have heard that you are an expert in grammar and nyāya. I want to discuss with you on these subject matters.
I do teach vyākaraṇa. But that is just a show of courage. I do not really understand it nor do my students. But you are a paṇḍita and understand everything.
Yes. I do understand the subject.
But nowadays I do not feel any interest for these subjects.
I am not interested in what you like or what you don't. I will come to your place tomorrow. I wish to have a debate with you. If you lose, then you are duty bound to sign my victory certificate. That is all I have to say.
Keśava?
Mother Saraswati?
Do you know the Person with whom you are about to debate?
No, Mother.
-He is my husband. - Nārāyaṇa? - Yes.
I am ashamed to appear before him in the manner you have requested. Please go and surrender to Him.
O paṇḍita, paṇḍita? Please forgive me paṇḍita. Please forgive me.
Please do not speak in this way. I am ashamed. Do come in.
No. I have offended you. I came to debate with you. My pride is now destroyed.
- What are you saying? - What I speak is the truth. I have offended you.
My worshipful deity, Mother Sarasvati, appeared before me and opened my eyes. Please forgive me for being so presumptuous.
Please do not make me an offender. - You an offender? I know who is the offender.
I have recognized you. But I need to know you better.
In the end I must conquer you by love and hold you forever within my heart. I am going in search of that mantra.
When the right time comes, we may meet again. Otherwise this is our last meeting.
- You are going away? - Yes. I have to go.
Dear Paṇḍita, I cannot sleep until I have shed all my desires for self-enjoyment. This the only way I can rid myself of my pride of learning.
I am going.
- Who was it at this early hour? - Keśava Kaśmīrī, a digvijayī paṇḍita.
Oh. But why didn't you not invite him in?
He has decided to leave his own house in earnest. How will he sit in mine?
Meaning?
- Meaning he has become a sannyāsī and left. - Oh. He has become a sannyāsī?
- No, no, Nimāi. You go to your room. - But why are you worried about me, mother? I am a married man.
Yes. I did get you married. But a cow belonging to a burnt down house is frightened by the crimson clouds of sunset.
That is why I cannot remain a second with you out of my sight.
- But mother, now its time for me to go away for a few days. - What?
Yes, mother. My (maternal) uncle is going to Gayā. I have decided to go with him to complete my father's last rites.
- If you want to go to Gayā, can't you go later? - Who knows whether I will be able to go later or not?
- This is my chance. Otherwise.....
I agree. Alright. I will tell your uncle Candraśekhara to take you with him.
But don't stay too long in Gayā. Come back soon. Your young wife will be waiting for you here.
What was mother telling you about me?
Mother was saying that my wife is very naughty!
Mother can never say that about me. Do you know how much she loves me?
Is that so? And what about me?
- I don't know. - Listen, listen.
I know. Even if I love you, you don't love me one bit.
- That is why.... - What? - I am going away from here. - And me?
I was just joking!
I know that you love me. But if you truly love me,.......
.....will you listen to whatever I tell you?
I am going with my uncle to Gayā to finish my father's last rites.
I will return very soon. Don't you cry, ok?
- But with whom shall I stay? - Why? With mother?
But I will not be able to see you.
If you close your eyes, you will always be able to see me.

Paṇḍita?
Goswami?
My Gayā pilgrimage has been successful.
My birth and life is blessed.
I became a servant of Śrī Kṛṣṇa after I met you.
You are all-merciful. Kindly now rescue me from this world.
I am surrendering myself at your lotus feet.
I beg of you to please bring me the nectar of His divine love.
Please do not talk like that, paṇḍita. I know who you are. Yet I will honor your request. I will give you the Mantra.
What do I see?
What do I see before my eyes?
- O gurudeva, whatever I saw has disappeared from my vision. - But Gopī Vallabha still stands before my eyes.
Gopī vallabha....gopī vallabha......
What is this? In that case........O Pūrṇa Brahmā Sanātana!
O Ṭhākura! So then you are Him!
O Kṛṣṇa, please be merciful to me. Please keep my husband away from all evil.
Nimāi, you have put me into a whole lot of trouble. Its not right for you not to return home. Also, I cannot find your gurudeva, Īsvarapūri.
Uncle, I want to go to Vṛndāvana,
Vṛndāvana? But that is so far away from here!
Yes. I know.....
....the Vṛndāvan of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, which is covered all over with the dust of Gopī Vallabha......
....in Vraja dhāma......let me take that dust........
Nimāi, nimāi, my son, please let me know clearly what you want to do.

Rāma Rāghava , Rāma Rāghava, Rāma Rāghava raksha mām. (O Rāma Rāghava, my protector)
O Śrīvāsa Acharya ṭhākura, Nimāi paṇḍita has returned from Gayā. But what a transformation! He is constantly immersed in thoughts of Kṛṣṇa.
Even while He is returning home, he is engrossed in singing the holy names of Kṛṣṇa.
I have noticed the transformation of the Paṇḍita quite a while ago.
He is now immersed in the rasa of the Rasika. Can't you understand?
O Mukunda! This is how the mercy of the All-Merciful manifests itself.
He who never took the Vaiṣṇava society seriously all this while, is today searching after Him. He is not an ordinary person.
I knew in advance.
This is indeed how it all happens. His innate ecstasy for God has been aroused by the touch of Viṣṇu at Gayā. This is called Pūrva Rāga.
I think this kind of sentiment arose in Śrīmatī Rāñdhārāṇī also.
Rādhāra ki holo antare byathā. (O what internal pain of craving did Rādhārāṇī feel?)
Bosiyā birale thāko e akole (Why was she so sad and lonely?)
....Na śune kāhāra kathā. (....without listening to anyone?)
Eto kisera byathā? (What kind of pain does she feel?)
Rai hṛde eto kisera byathā? (O what kind of pain does Rāñdhārāṇī feel.....)
Thāke birale, śune na kathā. (.....that causes her such sadness that she does not listen to anyone? )
Rai hṛde eto kisera byathā? (O what kind of pain does Rāñdhārāṇī feel.....)
Na śune kāhāra kathā. (..she doesn't listen to anyone)
What is this?
Why did you stop singing, Mukunda?
Please sing. Please sing about His glories and pastimes.
Don't stop this song about His pastimes - sing....
Helayao beni, phulera gāthani..... (Swing your long plaits of hair, intertwined with lovely flowers,.....)
Dekhoye khasaye cūli (...and open up your hair to reveal their beauty.)
Asita bayane cāhe candra pāne The Dark Face looks towards the moon....)
Ki kohe du hāta tuli (...and raising both His hands speaks unknown words....)
Eka dithi kari mayūra, mayūri. (... uniting at one place the peacock and peahen.....)
Kaṇṭha kare nirīksaṇe (....He turned His attention to their voices.)
Caṇḍīdāsa kaya nava paricaya Kāliya badhura sane (Caṇḍīdāsa sings about the wonderful way in which the wives of the Kāliya demon introduce themselves to Kṛṣṇa)
Kāliya badhura sane (...to the wives of the Kāliya demon)
It is true, Advaita ācārya. If you hear Nimāi sing the holy names, you will understand how the beautiful Bhava emotions have manifested in Him.
You are an elevated Vaiṣṇava. You will surely understand that a person cannot be engrossed in Kṛṣṇa's holy names in this way unless he has become impatient for experiencing Kṛṣṇa Prema.
I have never heard of a person practicing Kṛṣṇa sādhana by dancing and singing.
He who must be realized on the basis of severe austerities cannot be attained by song and dance, can He?
- Govinda, I hope what you are describing is not a sign of some deviant process? - You mean a mental disorder?
No. No, I don't think so.
What has happened, what has happened, dear? Why are you crying? Are you in pain? Any difficulty?
My Kṛṣṇa just appeared before me and disappeared.
Please show Him to me once again. Please......otherwise.....
O God, O Kṛṣṇa, What is this you have done to me?
- .......what have you done to me..... - Vishupriyā?
You..............?
You have come.......?.......to take me.......?
You are Nārāyaṇa?
Nārāyaṇa.........then ......then are you......then are you......you....you......
Ke tāre bol............ (Tell me, who can...)
.....cinte pare (....know Him)
Ke tāre bol cinte pare, tāra līlāra sīmā nāi (O tell me who can know the One, whose pastimes are unlimited)
Se je rūpera mājhe aparūpa (He is the most beautiful and yet beyond material form.....)
Cinte narli tai tāra līlāra sīmā nai (...that is why you cannot know Him.....His pastimes are unlimited)
Juge juge uddhārite pāpī tāpī jana (Millenium after millenium, to save the sinful........)
Kata rūpe e dharāte āse Nārāyaṇa (.....Lord Nārāyaṇa appears in this world in so many different forms)
Āse Nārāyaṇa (....Lord Nārāyaṇa appears.)
Se je kāro sakhā, kāro gopāla, kāro prānera bhāi (He is a dear friend to some, the child Gopāla to others, and the life and soul brother of another)
Tāra līlāra sīmā nai. (There are no limits to his pastimes.)
Excuse me, is this the house of Śrī Kṛṣṇa?
Śrī Kṛṣṇa?
Yes. Śrī Kṛṣṇa. My younger brother. I am his elder brother, Balarāma. Can't you see I have a plough on my shoulder?
Then, this is not Śrī Kṛṣṇa's house.
When you are Balarāma, then you should know that Śrī Kṛṣṇa's house is in Vṛndāvana.
Vṛndāvana?
Then why did Śrīpāda Mādhavendra Purī send me here? But its OK. I will travel to Vṛndāvana.
Haribol! Haribol! Haribol! Harer nāma eva kevalam.
Hari nāme dūba debe bhāi, thakbe nā āra bhaya. (If you drown yourself in Harināma, you will have no fear anymore)
Tora monera kālo hobe ālo, bol Haribol, bol re. (The darkness of your mind will be illuminated - say Haribol again and again)
Manera kālo hobe ālo, rabe na saṁśaya. (The darkness of your mind will be illuminated and your doubts will be destroyed forever)
Hari nāme duba debe bhāi, thakbe nā āra bhaya. (If you drown yourself in Harināma, you will have no fear anymore)
Who are you, sannyāsī? You sang out loud what was going through my mind.
My name is Nitāi. You?
Me? I am Advaita.
Advaita. Oh, I understand. That means you do not subscribe to the view of the Dvaita feature of the Absolute.
Hari! Hari! Don't ever talk like that. Can the Jīva soul ever disregard the Dvaita nature of God?
We are all under the shelter of the all-merciful Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
That is good news. So I can get the whereabouts of Śrī Kṛṣṇa from you.
Sannyāsī, if I could give His whereabouts, then........... That is good news. So I can get the whereabouts of Śrī Kṛṣṇa from you.
Sannyāsī, if I could give His whereabouts, then...........
So then you also do not know where to find Him. Then I cannot remain here. Its alright. Let me see if I can get help from someone else.
Śrīvāsa, you met such a great personality, and yet allowed him to go away on his own?
It is my offense, paṇḍita. I thought that........
You have made a mistake. A grievous mistake. Let us go and see where he has gone.
Kothā ore prāṇera kānāi? (O where are you, the Kānāi of my heart?)
Keno luko curi, O bhāi (O brother, why this hide and seek?)
Hṛdaya mājhe dekhā re tora. (You reveal yourself within the heart)
Ruperi mādhurī. (With the sweetness of your form)
Hṛdaya mājhe dekhā re tora. (You reveal yourself within the heart)
Ruperi mādhurī. (With the sweetness of your form)
Kothā ore prāṇera kānāi? (O where are you, the Kānāi of my heart?)
You have come at last. This time it looks like you adopted your golden form. But........
Jyoti je uṭhiche, ujjvala nila kānta maṇir.... (A bright effulgence emanates from the blue-black Jewel...)
Hema varaṇa bheda kore. (..piercing your golden covering)
Ujjvala nila kānta maṇir Jyoti uṭhiche,.... (The blue-black Jewel transmits a bright effulgence)
What ....? You? Is it really you?
- You? - Can't you recognize me? I am Nitāi!
- Brother! O my elder brother! - Haribol! Haribol! Haribol!
O brother, please give me shelter. Please give me Kṛṣṇa bhakti.
O Deceptive One! Do you think I do not know who you are?
Today you have come to transform Navadvīpa into Vṛndāvana. Please allow me a small place there.
May I always remain immersed in your Holy Name.
Not my name, O brother, only the name of Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
May we always remain immersed in the songs of His Holy Names.
Jaya jaya Govinda Gopāla Gadādhara

Jaya jaya Govinda Gopāla Gadādhara

Śrī Rādhāra prāṇa dhana mukunda murāri. (O Treasure Chest of Śrī Rādhā's heart, O Viṣṇu, O Killer of the Mura demon)
O Prabhu, will you really come down? Will you really appear before us?
You had promised in the Gītā that from time to time, whenever there is a serious predominance of irreligion, you will descend on earth.
Was that really your voice? May be it was. O Prabhu, may be its just that I have doubts.
Advaita ācārya?
Do not have any doubts in your mind. I have manifested myself again.
Dear....
You are still sitting silently?
- Are you not going to complete your pūjā and scriptural readings? - ....Yes.....I am
He has arrived, dear. He has arrived at last. Now we will meet. We will surely meet.
- Meet? With whom? - Lord Nārāyaṇa Himself.
- With Nārāyaṇa? - Yes. With Him.
I think Lord Nārāyaṇa has appeared in Navadvīpa in person.
I saw Him before my very eyes speaking the words : "The verses of the Gītā are not false, Advaita. I have arrived."
I do not understand your words. I saw Him before my very eyes speaking the words : "The verses of the Gītā are all true, Advaita. I have arrived."
I do not understand your words.
How did the Lord come here from Navadvīpa?
I think it is your mental speculation. You are thinking about Him all night and day. It is just a dream.
Dream? No. That is not possible. I was not sleeping.
- Then.... - Its is not surprising. Many people dream while they are awake.
Now finish you pūjā and have your meal.
Is ācārya deva at home?
Prāṇām, Ācārya deva.
Ācārya deva, your feet dust are required in Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura's house.
You?
I am his brother Śrī Rāma. You have seen me when I was a little child. That is why you don't remember me.
Maybe. But why does Śrīvāsa want to see me?
- He didn't call you. The Lord Himself asked you to come. - The Lord? Meaning?
Lord Nimāi , prabhu. He said that it was your call and prayers that...........
My prayers?
Strange.
Then.........then is Nimāi really The Lord?
Alright. I will see for myself whether He is The Lord or not.
Come in. Please come in, Ācārya deva.

Prabhu, in what form are you revealing yourself?
I am lost.....I am lost.
I have come because you called me.
Prabhu, I am lower than an insect. What power do I have to call you?
You have come of your own desire, O Ocean of Desires. But.....but this form of yours is mind-boggling.
Advaita Ācārya?
Prabhu. I have recognized you at last!
Please give us shelter at your feet!
What other boon do you desire?
I have nothing to ask. Just this......
...may devotion unto the Lord be distributed to every home without any consideration of lowliness .
Granted.
Bhajahū re mana Śrī Nanda nandana (O mind, just worship the lotus feet of the son of Nanda...)

You both are always drunk day and night, while the nation goes to the dogs. Aren't you ashamed?
Don't worry....
....we will destroy every single Vaiṣṇava
That's right. We will beat up every Vaiṣṇava that we see.
You'd better, if you want to save Navadvīpa from the wrath of the Goddess. Otherwise we all will be ruined. This is my warning to both of you.
We have to save Navadvīpa from the wrath of the Goddess.
We will beat every Vaiṣṇava that we see. Lets Go.
Don't hit me. I am not a Vaiṣṇava!
Lets go right away!
Haribol , Haribol, bahu tule nece nece, (Raise your hands, dance and sing 'Haribol')
Haribol , Haribol, bahu tule nece bol (Raise your hands, dance and sing 'Haribol')
Haribol , Haribol, bahu tule nece nece Haribol, Haribol (Raise your hands, dance and sing 'Haribol')
- What have you done O Brāhmaṇa? I am an untouchable! - Who said you are untouchable?
You have taken the name of Hari.
Thuh! Thuh (spitting sounds)!
Being a baul, are you not ashamed of embracing this man of low caste? Shame on you!
He who takes the name of Hari no longer remains untouchable.
He has taken the name of Hari.
Just call out to Him with all of your heart......
....you will see that these insignificant social classifications have vanished.
- Haribolo...... - Dhyat! Stop it!
Lets see how you continue with your concept of bheda-abheda.
I will see to it that I destroy this sect of yours - if my name , Cāpāla Gopāla, means anything.
Who is that? Who did this?
- Who has desecrated my place of kīrtana? - What has happened, dear? - See for yourself.
Can you tell me why this insult? I have done no one any harm, yet why this insult?
O Mādhava, what is this you have done?
He Mādhava!
Mādhava!
Bahuta minati karu toya. (I plead with you again and again......)
Mādhava, bahuta minati karu toya. (O Mādhava, I plead with you again and again.....)
Dehi tulasī tila, deha samarpilu (......with this offering of Tulasī leaves and sesame seeds, I pledge my body in your service.)
Dayā nāhi choḍobi more (I know your compassion is such that you will not reject me)
Ganayite doṣa, guṇa-leśa nāhi pābo binā (.....you will only be able to count my faults. You will not find a single trace of good qualities in me......)
...Jaba tuhū karabi vicāra (.....while considering this appeal of mine......)
He Mādhava, jaba tuhū karabi vicāra (O Mādhava, while considering this appeal of mine......)
Tuhū Jagannātha, jagate kahaosi (You are known as Supreme Father of the universe, Jagannātha.....)
Jagabāhira nāhi mui chāra (Therefore, as a worthless soul living in this universe, do I not have the right (to accept you as my master)?)
He Mādhava (O Mādhava!)
Jagabāhira...... (A worthless soul of the World..........)
.....nāhi mui chāra (....do I not have the right? (to accept you as my master))
Can you tell me what these aberrations on my hand are?
- I think it is leprosy. - Leprosy?
Oh. Can this disease never be cured?
Pray to Hari. Take His holy name. Only He can cure you.
You cannot hide in the corner like that.
No, no. Please don't touch me. I am a very lowly person and very poor in all respects. I am just a servant of the servants of Vaiṣṇavas.
You are the supreme devotee of Hari, Haridas. I cannot distance myself from you.
Your feet have sanctified this place of Kīrtana of Śrīvāsa.
- Haribol! - Come, let us go to the other side.
Today, we will intoxicate ourselves with the Holy Names in your presence.
Sing......
Hari haraye namaḥ Kṛṣṇa Yādavāya namaḥ
Yādavāya Mādhavāya Keśavāya namaḥ
Hari haraye namaḥ Kṛṣṇa Yādavāya namaḥ
Yādavāya Mādhavāya Keśavāya namaḥ

Haribol, Haribol. Bāhu tule nece nece Haribol, Haribol
Ali ji mero kanta........atahi sukha paya....Ali ji......... (Ali, my lover, who gives me much pleasure.......)
This song is no good. Sing another one.
Yes. Another song. Not this one.
Kaise karuñ maiñ ikwāra ho balamwa, vāda karnā ailā (O my lover, how can I lie to you? I came to promise you that I will marry you. )
Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare
What is this nonsense?
Gaire se pyāre neha lagainā, gaire se pyāre neha lagainā (Make love to me gently)
Aur hame visajailā ho balamwa, vāda karnā ailā (I have come to take my marriage vows and I have dressed and decorated myself so nicely for the occasion)
Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare
Brother, she is singing Harināma!
Please understand. A different tune is disturbing my song. Can't you hear?
How sweet!
What? Hey Mādhāi, it is surely the Haribol wallahs procession.
Lets go and see. We will beat them so bad that they will not speak the syllable 'ha' again.
Haribolo, Haribolo, Haribolo re
Āmāra duḥkhe Hari, sukhe Hari
Duḥkhe Hari, sukhe Hari
Gaurahari je
Haribolo, Haribolo Haribolo re.
- Quiet - Stop it!
Who are you? Why are you standing in front of our house and yelling nonsense?
It looks like you've got some guts to do this!
I do not know you. But you are blessed. You have come rushing out after hearing the Holy Names of Hari.
Hmmm. You don't know us. You must have joined Nimāi's gang recently!
Then listen. I am Mādhāi and this is Jagāi. We are maternal cousins.
In Navadvīpa our word is law. Therefore, everyone must obey us.
We are warning you. Don't yell those nonsense names every morning and evening.
If you yell, we will send you to hell.
Sure, I will accept that. You both, Jagāi and Mādhāi, are like my own brothers. Now come and join us in Harināma so that we may all be delivered.
You've got guts to say a thing like that. If you say that again......
There is no other name in this world which is as merciful. If only I could wait with the Holy Name like a boat on the shores of this Bhava ocean..... Dhyat!.
- I will kill you..! - ....and throw your body in the Gaṅgā.
Alright. Do whatever you like.......
...but before that take the name of Hari just once! I can see that you are in great pain.
I assure you that Hari's Name will provide you permanent relief.
- Say just once.... - How dare you......!
How dare you..........you have the audacity to say this? I will cut you in pieces.....take this!
- Oh! Mādhāi! What have you done? He is bleeding! - Its alright....its alright.
Today I am going to bring down the River of Blood........leave me alone!
I accept. Kill me if you want to. I am not angry or upset. But before that, please take His name just once.
Say Haribol, Haribol, Haribol.
Mādhāi, you just hit him so hard. And yet listen to what he says.........
Merechis kalasira kaṇa (You hit me with an earthen vessel)
Ta bole ki prema debo na? (Is that reason enough not to give you Prema?)
Merechis kalasira kaṇa (You hit me with an earthen vessel) Ta bole ki prema debo na? (Is that reason enough not to give you Prema?)
Hari bole bāhu tule āy re miche ekti bāra (Please raise both your hands and call out the name of Hari......just once)
Mādhāi re tora hāta dhari (Mādhāi, I hold your hand and plead....)
Bolo re Hari, Hari, Hari
Mādhāi re tora hāta dhari (Mādhāi, I hold your hand and plead....)
Tora papera bojhā de mora māthāya (Place the burden of your sins on my head)
Karish ne ko bhavana āra (Don't worry any more.)
You are bleeding. Who hit you?
Are you not ashamed of hurting a sannyāsī like this?
Be punished severely for the sin you have committed!
- Forgive me. Forgive me Prabhu. - O Deva what are you doing?
This time you have not come to punish, but to over flood the whole earth in your Love. Have you forgotten that Prabhu?
Prabhu, please give me these two brothers as alms to a beggar. Please do not kill them Prabhu, please save their lives.
- Please have mercy on me Prabhu. - Prabhu, I am a great offender, please punish me.
O Saviour of the Fallen, can these two not obtain pardon even after falling at your feet?
- Have you pardoned them? - They have not done me any harm, Prabhu.
You yourself have arranged this Līlā to improve the reputation of Vaiṣṇavas.
Now please take all my good karma and liberate them.
Granted. By your mercy, these two are liberated from now on.
Get up, both of you. Prabhu has forgiven you. Rise up.
Now fill your hearts with the Holy Name. Sing......
Bhaja Gaurāṅga, kaha Gaurāṅga, laha Gaurāṅgera nāma re (Worship Gaurāṅga, sing Gaurāṅga, take the name of Gaurāṅga)
Je jana Gaurāṅga bhaje se hoya āmāra prāṇa re (One who thus worships Gaurāṅga, is my heart and soul)
Prabhu, please have mercy on me!
Who is that?
Its me. Cāpāla Gopāla, Prabhu.
I am a great sinner and offender. Please forgive me. Please have mercy on me.
You must approach the Vaiṣṇava whom you offended. If he has mercy on you, only then you may be pardoned.
Get up. Get up Capala. Get up. The incarnation of Divine Love, Śrī Gaurāṅga Deva has showered his mercy on you.
By the touch of His feet, you have attained salvation. I bless you that you become free of your disease.
Just take his name once with all your heart........sing.....
Did you hear the bad news , Ācārya deva? Yesterday the son of Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura died.
- What? But last night when we were doing kīrtana at his house........ - He did not mention it
Because Mahāprabhu was engrossed in kīrtana.
He prohibited all the members of his house to even cry, so that kīrtana can go on smoothly.
- Does Nimāi know about this? - Yes
But after He learned about this, He seems to be in a very thoughtful mood.
I see.
Nimāi, what has happened to you? For the last few days you have not been attending the kīrtana.
- Indeed. I do not go to kīrtana. One of these days I will go. - Where will you go?
- To kīrtana - Oh, alright. I do not understand your words some times.
- But,mother, everyone else can understand. - I don't think so.
Take for instance your wife. She passes her days in fear.
Mother, does your daughter-in-law fear me?
OK. I will ask her myself, whether she fears me or not.
Dear? I understand that you fear me. Shaking your head will not deceive me. I understand everything.
You fear me a lot.
But why?
Do I tell you anything to make you fearful?
Why are you silent?
Look at me.
Why are you so shy?
Listen to me.
Me?
What is your fear?
You are not just dear to me.
You are also the dear one of Viṣṇu.
Therefore, in this whole world, who dares to scare you?
- Am I right? - No. I do not want to be dear to anyone......
....except one person.
And who is that person? Me?
But He is the Lord of the Universe.
He is God. He has a separate consideration - I worship Him.
But you.....I have no one else but you.
Mother was saying that you become fearful whenever you hear me speak.
I don't fear when you speak.
I fear when you don't speak to me.
Alright. I will speak to you from to day as if for the first time.
- Then you make the arrangements. - What should I do?
Prepare a new flower garland for me.
Appear before me just like you did on the first night of our marriage - resplendent with the beautiful Aloka sandalwood paste decoration.......
....and stand before me.
-OK? - Right away?
- But mother is present outside. - No. Not now. At night.
Yuge yuge tāi,ekti mālāi nūtana karihā gāṅthi (That is why, I make just one new flower garland every millennium)

How are you feeling?
Hmm. I am feeling very nice.
