TODRICK HALL: Hello everybody.
It's your boy, Todrick.
Thank you so much for coming back to yet another week of
Dance Moms recap.
This week's special guest comes to us all the way from
Branson, Missouri, where she is starring in Finalists Live.
She was one of the stars of Beauty and the Beat, and she
is also the second runner-up in Season
Four of American Idol.
The beautiful, the talented Vonzell Solomon.
VONZELL SOLOMON: Hello everybody.
So good to join you this week.
TODRICK HALL: Thanks for coming.
OK, so what did you think of Dance Moms?
VONZELL SOLOMON: I love Dance Moms.
I think Abby is a hot mess.
TODRICK HALL: I know.
Let's get started.
OK, so at the top of the pyramid this week--
no surprise--
was Maddie.
Go, Maddie!
So at the beginning of the episode, everybody was sitting
there, and Abby starts going through the pyramid.
And then we realize that Paige isn't there.
She strolls in really late with a huge boot on her foot.
She broke her toe, so now she's out
for four to six weeks.
Which was unfortunate, because her and Chloe have been
wanting to do a duet for nine years, and this week was the
week they were going to get to do the duet.
So then in strolls Jill, who was not
invited to the pyramid.
Jill was a hot mess this week.
Every week, but especially this week.
And so she comes in, and Paige was sitting there with her
boot, just sitting there sulking 'cause she doesn't get
to be a part of it.
And Jill was like, what's wrong with your foot?
Are you hurt?
VONZELL SOLOMON: Yeah.
Asking her all these questions that an adult should not be
asking a little girl.
Obviously, she was just being messy.
TODRICK HALL: Yeah. 'Cause she knew, when she saw that broke
foot that that was a chance for Kendall to
get up in that business.
She was like, (FEMININE VOICE) Abby said you
can't dance your duet?
Oh, that's too bad.
Maybe Kendall could do it.
VONZELL SOLOMON: So bad.
TODRICK HALL: Shady.
So with all this going on, Maddie was also chosen a few
weeks ago to be one of the stars of Drop Dead Diva.
She gets to play a cameo role on the show.
So she had to miss rehearsal to go do Drop Dead Diva, and
Abby was not happy about it.
But it's Maddie, so she was like, as you were.
So this week, Brooke has a solo.
And it's like an acro solo, and they were
talking about it.
It's a really cool concept, it's about Anne Frank.
And Kelly just let her true colors come out.
VONZELL SOLOMON: It was too much.
TODRICK HALL: She was like, (FEMININE
VOICE) who's Anne Frank?
VONZELL SOLOMON: And was like, I don't know very much about
Anne Frank, but I'm pretty sure she wasn't doing
cartwheels.
TODRICK HALL: She did say that.
VONZELL SOLOMON: I was like, girl.
Somebody needs to hit her over the head with a--
TODRICK HALL: Show them what you do.
VONZELL SOLOMON: This means I'm gonna kill you right now.
TODRICK HALL: Just like a can of Raid.
VONZELL SOLOMON: So you're gonna get it.
She's a hot mess.
TODRICK HALL: So yeah, that's for you, Kelly.
Kelly, if you're watching this, ssst!
Kendall is in the mix now, and they decided that they needed
to have an audition for who was going to replace Paige in
the number.
But Abby knew good and well that Kendall
was going to do It.
She had Nia come up and dance.
And Abby was like, (DEMON VOICE) I mean, you're good.
But what you do is not like what everyone else is doing.
VONZELL SOLOMON: It was I roundabout way of saying--
TODRICK HALL: You didn't get it.
VONZELL SOLOMON: No.
TODRICK HALL: Kendall gets added to the group number, and
she gets the duet, which the parents are not
happy about at all.
They get to the competition and--
VONZELL SOLOMON: But wait.
TODRICK HALL: What?
VONZELL SOLOMON: Kendall's mom is a hot mess 'cause after she
did that, she went and talked to Abby and was literally
shoving Kendall down Abby's throat.
Like, this is a perfect opportunity for my daughter .
I was like--
TODRICK HALL: Ssst!
VONZELL SOLOMON: I'm gonna kill her right now!
And then she got with the other dance moms and pretended
like she didn't do anything.
TODRICK HALL: Yeah, they were like, why would you go and ask
Abby if she could be in the number?
VONZELL SOLOMON: And she said, I didn't ask Abby!
Abby just went and got her and put her in.
I was like, oooh!
TODRICK HALL: Two cans!
VONZELL SOLOMON: Two!
TODRICK HALL: So they get to the competition.
The group number goes.
What country was that from?
Paris?
The bonna note.
What is it?
Bella note, where they have the berets on and the little
black and white striped shirts?
VONZELL SOLOMON: Oh!
Like--
TODRICK HALL: Clearly, the number was forgettable.
VONZELL SOLOMON: Paris?
TODRICK HALL: Yeah, Paris.
Anyway, the number was really good.
And Abby wanted to focus on the technique, and so she did
a lot of technical things, a lot of turns, a lot of ballet
training went into this number.
And they did great, and the number came out number one.
They won that.
VONZELL SOLOMON: That was really nice.
TODRICK HALL: Mackenzie went out and did her little number,
and she was so--
VONZELL SOLOMON: So good.
TODRICK HALL: Adorable.
She was great.
VONZELL SOLOMON: She was giving you fierce.
And even her walk--
TODRICK HALL: Show them how they walked off.
VONZELL SOLOMON: She was like--
TODRICK HALL: Dang!
VONZELL SOLOMON: Even in her performance, she was like-- it
was so cute.
TODRICK HALL: How was she again?
VONZELL SOLOMON: She was getting--
TODRICK HALL: One more time?
VONZELL SOLOMON: No.
TODRICK HALL: OK.
Brooke's back was hurting so much at this point that Kelly
had to make a parent's decision and say that she
couldn't perform.
And I was very proud of Kelly for not putting her out there.
VONZELL SOLOMON: So you go, girl.
You better stand up to Abby
TODRICK HALL: And meantime, Jill did not care.
She was like, (FEMININE VOICE) well, I wish she had told us
that she was going to be hurt, because then this would have
been a great opportunity for Kendall.
Ssst.
Maddie then took the throne, and just killed it.
She was like angel farts dancing on the stage.
It was epic.
VONZELL SOLOMON: So beautiful.
TODRICK HALL: The duet came and Chloe and Kendall did
their thing, and it was actually pretty good.
VONZELL SOLOMON: They won.
TODRICK HALL: Whoo whoo!
[BARKING]
TODRICK HALL: And Jill, cut to her and she was like,
(FEMININE VOICE) OK, at least now everyone knows that
Kendall fits in here.
And next week, she should have a solo.
Ssst.
Anyway, the episode was great.
I can't wait to see what happens next week because the
preview for next week was pretty juicy, and Cathy's
coming back.
It's gonna be epic.
I'm Todrick.
VONZELL SOLOMON: And I'm Vonzell.
(SINGING) And you're watching FYI.
TODRICK HALL: Peace.
Oh wait.
