Today we will make papaya sabzi.
Let's see what all ingrdients are required for making papaya sabzi.
Raw papaya - 600 grams (2 small)
Paste - 2 tomatoes, 1 inch ginger piece and 1-2 green chilies
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 3/4 tsp (as per taste)
Red chilly powder - less then 1/4 tsp
Garam masala - less then 1/4 tsp
Green coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Oil - for making sabzi
Firstly peel papaya and cut into pieces.
Divide it into two parts and then peel it.
Remove the seeds nicely like this.
After cuting papaya rinse it thoroughly with water.
Now make sabzi from the papaya.
Add 1 tbsp oil in the heated pressure cooker.
Also add asafoetid and cumin seeds.
When cumin seeds become little brown in color add turmeric powder,
and corriander powder.
Now add tomato-ginger-green chilly paste into it.
Saute the masala until oil floats on the surface.
Masala is ready.
Now add papaya pieces in the masala and cook nicely.
Add salt and red chilly powder as well.
Add red chily powder as per your taste or simply avoid it.
Saute papaya pieces for two minutes so that they get coated nicely with the masala.
Add little or 1/2 cup water in the cooker.
Mix really well.
Close the cooker with help of a lid.
When it simmer's once, reduce the flame to minimum and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Sabzi is ready.
Now add garam masala,
and green coriander leaves in the sabzi.
Add garam masala and corrinder leaves in the end so that their fragrance remains for long.
This much quantity of sabzi can be served to 4-5 family members.
Serve with chapatti, parantha, naan or rice.
