Hey Niners, it's Megan here to give you the inside scoop on parking at UNC Charlotte.
One of the hardest things to do the first week of classes is to find a parking space,
since everyone's on campus.
Don't make it any harder on yourself by not having your permit when you get here.
Permits are enforced the first day of class.
If you drive on campus without a permit, you'll either have to pay to park in a visitors deck,
or feed a meter until you get one.
Otherwise, you risk getting a citation.
Plus, you can expect to wait in a long line at the Student Union with everyone else who
waited until the last minute to get their permit.
But, if you order your permit online before August 10, it will be mailed to you.
If you're waiting on money, or for your refund check from Financial Aid, you can buy a temporary
pass for $5/day.
Wondering if you should bring your car on campus or not?
Check out the Hertz On Demand car rental program.
It may be a cheaper option for you!
Also, here's a quick tip.
Taking the campus shuttle will help you get to class easier, and faster, and you don't
have to worry about finding a parking spot.
