Hi! I'm Karen for Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to make a simple stuffed
animal. This is a great beginner's project. These doggies were actually made by children
7 years and 11 years old. It's a great project; it can be made completely by hand. It has
only 3 simple pieces in the pattern and it's made with this nice fleecy fabric that you
a lot in fabric stores and it doesn't have heavy fur so it's very easy to work with.
It's very easy to sew for children. The other things we'll be using is a number eight in
embroidery thread or a thread for doing crochet, 2 colors of embroidery floss. Black to do
the nose and red to do the little tongue. You only need a little bit. Some needles that
have a fairly big hole. Embroidery needles are good to accommodate the larger threads.
Some pins are great for holding things in place. A needle threader is good to have,
but it's not necessary and maybe some buttons if you want to do something like this. Make
a little doggy tag or use buttons for the eyes. You can make it without the buttons
by just embroidering the eyes. You should have a good sharp pair of scissors and it's
nice to have a small pair of scissors for doing little trimming threads and small things.
Then of course you need the stuffing. This is polyfiber fill, 100% polyester and you
can find that in craft stores or fabric stores. I think that's everything. Now let's get started.
