I think the overall significance of
the sequencing of the cattle genome
is that it gives us insight into
the genetic variation that exists
within cattle populations.
10 - 20 years down the line
we're going to have a large number
of tests, DNA tests, for
a variety of traits.
300 scientists from
25 different countries -
a lot of people wanted
to work together, tried real hard
to work together
to accomplish something that
just 10 years ago
most of us thought would never happen.
