Hello everybody! You are all so welcome to another review!

First I would like to tell you that from now on

Tests will be performed in the operational system Windows 7

And you can see here

It is fully updated

Today we are going to perform a double test with GData Internet Security 2012

This is a security suite that counts with

Two antivirus engines

BitDefender and Avast

It also has a behavior monitor

Firewall

An antispam filter

And an optional parental control module

GData now also has a cloud-based protection

That does the analysis of suspicious files

And new heuristics to detect unknown malware

I kept the default settings

And as always, nothing has been changed

I am going to update its antivirus database signatures

Engine A is BitDefender

And engine B is Avast

Both databases are updated

Let's now check RAM usage

For a total of seven active services

A memory usage between 40 to 45 MB of RAM memory

That is good for a security suite that has two antivirus engines

Here I have a list of malicious links

And let's start testing

I feel my computer running slow now

GData is analysing the download

And a Trojan was detected

And this one was blocked

And this one was also detected

This one was detected

This one was detected

This one was also detected

This one was also detected

This one was also detected as a Trojan

By Engine A

BitDefender

Which is part of GData

This is an exploit

That was blocked by SmartScreen filter

From Internet Explorer

This one was detected

And the last one

GData did not detect any kind of threat related to this software named Pino

I am going to start a full scan of this computer with the GData

And I will return at the end with the results

At the end of scanning process that took 35 minutes

Nothing was found

Well, I will restart the computer now

Then I will run CCleaner

And I will return with the results from Malwarebytes

At the end of Malwarebytes scanning process

Nothing was found

I will start scanning now with Hitman Pro

And I will return at the end with the results

At the end of Hitman Pro scanning process

A Trojan was detected

Identified by Dr. Web

Pino.exe

I uploaded this file to Virus Total

And just only Dr. Web considers this file as a threat

Anyway, I will deleted it

OK!

I will start scanning now with Emsisoft Anti-Malware

And I will return at the end with the results

At the end of Emsisoft scanning process

Nothing was found

GData Internet Security got an excellent result in this first part of the test

Although it did not detected only one suspicious file

Well, here it ends the first part

I will return in a moment with the second and last part of this test

Well, let's start now the second part of this test

This second part takes place a few days after the first

Because of problems I had with my computer hardware

I brought to this folder

A total of 620 malware files

Here you can see all of them

I will re-enable GData real time protection

OK!

I will update again both antivirus databases

OK!

I will start scanning this folder with the GData

And I will return at the end with the results

At the end scanning process GData detected 580 threats

I will exclude all of them now

OK!

I will perform a second scanning process of this folder

And nothing more was found

Let's see now how many files are left in this folder

A total of 40 files

Let's calculate

620

Minus

40

GData detected a total of 580 files

Which is equivalent of a detection of

93.55%

As I usually do I will randomly choose a minimum of 10 files from this folder

And run one by one

An see how GData behaves

Let's go!

This one was detected

OK!

I will wait for the end of these installations

And I will be right back

OK!

All the setups were finished

There are some files being analysed by KillSwitch

I will restart the computer now

And I will return with the results from a full system scan of GData Internet Security

Here I am back after computer's restart

As you can see both signatures are updated

I will return at the end of this scanning process

At the end of GData scanning process

Nothing was found

I will delete now this malware folder

I will clean temporary files

And the trash with the CCleaner

I will start scanning now with Malwarebytes

And I will return at the end with the results

At the end of Malwarebytes scanning process

Nothing was found

I will start scanning now with Hitman Pro

And I will return at the end with the results

At the end of Hitman Pro scanning process

It was detected the presence of a malware

It was removed and sent to quarantine of Hitman Pro

I will start scanning now with Emsisoft Anti-Malware

And I will return at the end with the results

At the end of Emsisoft scanning process

Nothing was found

What I realized was that the start home page of Internet Explorer

Was changed for this one

Well, my final words

Most executable files that remain in the Malware folder

That were run by me in the second part of the test

Did not represent a risk to the computer

GData got excellent results

In both the first and the second part of this test

I would say it lacks a HIPS module

To increase the level of protection and security offered to its users

Well, that is all for today
