The Ledge - Thriller Movie Review

Uploaded by MEAndersFit on 01.10.2011

Here are my thoughts about The Ledge, a thriller movie by Matthew Chapman.
A thriller in which a battle of philosophies between a fundamentalist Christian and an
atheist escalates into a lethal battle of wills. Ultimately, as a test of faith, or
lack of it, the believer forces the non-believer onto the ledge of a tall building. He then
has one hour to make a choice between his own life and someone else's. Without faith
in an afterlife, will he be capable of such a sacrifice?
I would rate it 3 of 5 stars. What I liked: Thought-provoking questions
about atheism and Christianity. What happens when the two fight head-to-head? The soundtrack
was beautiful. What could have been improved: The dialogue
felt a bit forced. Cinematography left a bit to be desired.
The Ending: I was a bit disappointed by the ending, but it made a profound statement.
All in all, I enjoyed the movie. It opened a pathway of communication between my husband
and I about our differing beliefs. (He's a Catholic. I am an atheist.)
