Hello
Do people have full control over their convictions, or people can't always change their convictions?
Is it acceptable to force someone to pretend believing something which he/she actually does not believe?!
Does a muslim accept forcing a former non-religious person who embraces Islam to hide his/her belief?
Isn't the rule of reciprocity a very basic element of justice?
We are a group of Non-religious people, who want to introduce ourselves, mention one of the reasons
why we renounced Islam, and express our opinion on religion in general.
We start with Mr. Hassan Radwan, Management Committee Member of the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain.
My name is Hassan Radwan. My father is from Egypt,
and I live in England and I am Agnostic
I believe all religions are nonsense,
though I used to be very religious
until I started having doubts about the Qur'an
and gradually saw it in a new light
There are many reasons that made me reject Islam but perhaps the most important of them is Hell
The concept of eternal torture contradicts Reason, Justice and Mercy, completely!
My name is Kacem El Ghazzali, I have a Moroccan citizenship
and a universal belonging and identity
I was raised in a Muslim family
and had to learn Koran by heart at an early age
I was forced by a sheik, under the threat of a big stick
to recite verses of the Koran which I had been told they were Word of God.
My strong belief in the natural and sacred right of human beings to life
and my refusal of what is stated in holy books
e.g. calls for violence, oppression of women, homophobia, lashing, killing and rape
as well as my love for science and mathematics
all that convinced me that it makes no sense to consider myself as an adherent of any religion or creed
Hello again, I am Atheer Al-Ani, a non-religious iraqi living in Germany
I believe that all religions are man-made
and what convinced me of that judgment is that when we read the books
which are sacred for their believers using a critical method
we realize that they are not beyond the scope of the conceptions of people
at the time when these books have appeared in the environment they have originated
let’s take an example from the Quran
"Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves" (48:29)
Were his companions really merciful among themselves?
If Quran was really revelation from an Omniscient God,
it would have not included a verse which the Sunnites and Shiites still disagree upon its interpretation
because it conflicts with the actual happenings
after the death of the prophet of Islam as his companions fought each other
My name is Nesrin, from Lebanon
citizen of Canada, I am non-religious, why?
because I cannot believe in a God that will punish forever
his own creation for being what he has created
I am with you
