Private Michael Ross laid to rest

Michael Ross, the soldier who drowned two weeks ago,
was taken too soon, according to his family and friends.
He was laid to rest today
at his Ngati Kahu homeland of Pamapuria at Te Paatu Marae.
Pamapuria is a small town
not far from Kaitaia.

Private Michael Ross has returned home.
On 25 September, Ross fell into Lake Moawhango in Waiouru
while returning from training on the water with his comrades.
Eight days later, his body was found.
Last night his body arrived at Te Paatu Marae.
At the age of 29,
his family believe he was taken much too soon.
Private Michael Ross will be buried at Tarakaka.
