Welcome to our home. Please come in and study Gods Word with us in our program, From House
to House. We greet you in the name of the Lord. Thank you ladies, for participating
with us in our filming of our program and thank you Tony and Sandy Walker for sharing
your home with us where we could film. Were continuing in this series called Times and
Seasons from Ecclesiastes 3, where you would read of about 28 various times and season
that typically happen in an individuals lifetime. Were going to read verse 1 and 3 rather than
taking the full text. In Amplified, Ecclesiastes 3:1,3 it says, TO EVERYTHING there is a season,
and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven: A time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to break down and a time to build up, Last time we dealt with a time to kill, about
killing things to do with the appetites of the flesh, the human nature within us that
interferes with God having right-of-way and fulfilling His purposes in our life. Today
we talk about the positive. That sounded kind of negative, talking about what we need to
kill. Its not fun when the flesh cries out and says I want to live, I want my rights.
But this time were going to talk about the counter-balance, which is To Heal – a time
to kill, but theres a time to heal. There is a time within its season to heal. You have
the season but within that span of the time of a season, like in the natural, spring,
summer, fall, winter, spiritually theres a season and then within that season theres
a time, an exact time whereby healing needs to take place and the healing is ready. This
could be healing that you need thats mental, physical or spiritual. There are a variety
of types of healing that we may need. But theres a time for it. Its like the man who
had been laying there for years – waiting for the water to move, but he had an excuse.
He said nobodys been willing to help me get in. When the waters troubled and I could be
healed like others that step in, I dont have anybody to help me get in. You wonder why
somebody, in all those years, wouldnt help him in. But Jesus asked him. Wilt thou be
made whole? Do you really want to be well. Or do you want to hang on to your excuses?
Of course, Jesus didnt say that, but you could kind of hear the sound of it in His question
– Do you want the attention or want people to feel sorry for you or do you want to be
able to beg for alms? Do you have reasons why you havent been healed yet? Do you want
to be well, is what Jesus asked. I know individuals, a particular one I have in mind which I wont
describe, but that individual has suffered some real sad experiences. But what they really
want is everybody to listen to their sad tale. If you offer them how their soul, their inward
personality can be healed – they are really not interested in that. They want to hang
on to this tale of the past. We need to ask ourselves a question. Do we want attention
for our problem or healing? – because theres a time for it to be done. For some, its time
to get their healing instead of hanging on to their ashes, to receive the oil of His
healing. We need that desire to be well and be sincere about it. Hang on to Ecclesiastes
3, but look at K.J. Luke 4:18 and see the Lords mission. Why was He sent to this earth
– to save us from our sins and He has a mission to heal the broken heart, the bruised,
the grieving. Oh, the Lord is the mighty Healer. In K.J. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal
the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the
blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. Many people have broken hearts. This word
heal, in the Greek means heal, cure, make whole. Thats what were talking about, these
various conditions. Some are broken-hearted; some are bound with things, they are captives
to their sins – habits, lifestyle – some from their blindness, spiritually and physically.
They need to be healed. Some are bound with bruises of life where life has beat them up;
it has been so hard for them. They need liberty and freedom from that. Thats what Jesus came
for. That was His mission and when He quoted this standing in the synagogue that day, He
said, this day this scripture has been fulfilled in your eyes. He was the One fulfilling it.
It had been given hundreds of years previous back in Isaiah 61:1. He was quoting where
the prophet said there would be One come that would bind up the broken hearted. Thank God
that Jesus not only saves but He heals our broken hearts, our scars, our mourning and
grief. Psalms 147:3, Amplified. says, He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds
[curing their pains and their sorrows]. Isnt that wonderful? Im grateful Hes not only interested
in saving of my soul, but Hes interested in binding up the wounds in my life. I have to
say yes, Carol Brooke has had wounds, especially in my youth, sorrows of things in our home,
the ravages of sin–the sorrows that it brought. It says He cures their pains and sorrows.
Im so glad He healed and gave me something better. I know you could probably tell me
a story, my friend, thats even more heart-breaking. But have you given that to Jesus? Have you
opened up yourself and said, Lord, bring healing, pour in Your oil and wine into my broken heart
and make me whole. Thats what He came to do. He wants to see you filled with the joy of
His Holy Spirit. I think of how the text says He heals the broken heart and binds up the
wound. You dont want to leave a wound open because it can get infected. Infection can
eventually kill if it gets bad enough. If you break your arm, you need to have the bone
set, bound up so it heals correctly – if its not properly bound up it will heal crooked
and the bone wont be straight and in place properly. The Lord binds up our wounds properly
and then heals them and He cures our pains and sorrows. In Exodus 15: 26 in the K.J.
the Lord said –I am the Lord that healeth thee. Hes a healing Jesus. Hes a healing Jesus.
Do you need to be healed – maybe in your body physically? The Lord paid the price for
that. He took those thirty nine stripes on His back and by those stripes, the scripture
says, we are healed. Maybe you have a need in your soul, your personality, deep within
your emotional being. Theres been a wound there, something that happened in your childhood
or marriage or youve lost someone that was so dear to you, maybe a child – something
grievous has happened and youre still living with that pain. You need the Healer to come
and Hes willing. He is the Lord your God that will heal you. Then some people need to be
healed spiritually. They are spiritually crippled. They cant do right for anything. Their lives
are bound by the chains of sin. God will provide healing in all those areas. Do you have old
wounds, maybe in relationships that need to be healed? I hear the saddest tales of what
goes on especially in families, or marriages – the wounds in relationships – the Lord
can bring healing. Matthew 4:23-24, Amplified tells how He healed all kinds of diseases
so no matter what your kind is, the Lord has the antidote. And He went about all Galilee,
teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news (Gospel) of the kingdom, and
healing every disease and every weakness and infirmity among the people. So the report
of Him spread throughout all Syria, and they brought Him all who were sick, those afflicted
with various diseases and torments, those under the power of demons, and epileptics,
and paralyzed people, and He healed them, No matter what realm you need healing in,
no matter what has happened in your life, the Lord is the Healer and He would like to
be glorified in the healing in your life. Give Him that opportunity. I love Malachi
4, quoted it from my youth and believe for this to happen in my life continuously. Malachi
4:2 Amplified. It says, But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun
(notice it is s-u-n) of righteousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and
you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy.
What is the condition to this promise? Its those that have the worshipful fear of God
and the power of His name. The scripture promises –referring to Jesus – He shall arise and
it will be like if you saw the eagle with his great swooping wings outstretched, hovering
over you. The scripture says how the Lord will arise and under those wings will be His
healing virtues and bring healing to you. Child of God, are you hurting? The Lord would
arise upon you like the sunlight, s-u-n, and bring healing in His wings and shelter you
oer because under His wings no doubt you have come to trust. He says when that happens,
youll be like a calf that was turned loose out of the stall and you will gambol, meaning
leap for joy and frolic with enthusiasm. Ill never forget when my husband decided he wanted
to raise a calf and whenever we let that calf (we called him Luke) –old Luke out of his
pen, he would go leaping and bouncing across the green fields, kicking his legs – he
was so happy to be turned loose out of his pen. Thats what the scripture describes here
–we will have a joy in us that we will leap with. We will frolic in a spiritual sense
with this joy when the Lord brings over us those healing wings. Child of God, theres
healing in His wings for you – like the great eagle with the spreading out of His
wings to shelter you. We need healing and other people around you need healing? Oh,
do they. So the Lord called us to have a part in the healing of others. Go to Amplified,
Mark 16:15-20, And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel
to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth
not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall
they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents,
and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the
sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received
up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached
every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.
Amen. Hes commissioned us as New Testament believers to go, laying hands on the sick
that they might be healed. We don’t do the healing. The Lord will heal through us as
we operate in faith, believing Him to confirm the preached Word because it says youre to
go and preach the gospel. Take the Word and then take His healing. The Word will save
their souls –the bread of healing will help their life to be straightened out and then
these mighty signs that follow will confirm the Word of God, will endorse it. Its like
God putting His stamp of approval: Its true. Amen on that document with the performance
of the signs and wonders of healing. I think of our place as the Good Samaritan. In Luke
10:30-37 the illustration the Lord gives of what it was to be a good neighbor, the Good
Samaritan. He found the man that had been waylaid on the highway going down from Jerusalem
to Jericho. In his lifes journey, he was waylaid by thieves. He was stripped, wounded and left
deserted, half-dead. What did the Good Samaritan do? He dressed his wounds, pouring in oil
and wine which was what they had for medicine in those days to deal with infection in a
wound. He bound up the mans wounds and took him to get help. And he was willing to pay
and take cash out of his pocket and invest in this man being healed. After the man went
on his way after doing these good deeds for the man, he came back to check on his progress.
These are steps that we should follow. We need to be not so self-centered that we cannot
see other peoples need and hurts. The Lord would send us to take His Word and to take
His healing bread. There will be people you are going to minister to their wounds, pouring
in the oil of the Spirit, the wine the joy of the Spirit, binding up their wounds with
the Word of God. Help them to get help. Especially help them to help themselves. There will be
times you need to invest something, maybe out of your pocket – it may cost you a little
to be involved in helping another individual to heal their life. But then follow up if
possible. You meet a person in the passing and you never get to see them again – you
never know the results. But if at all possible, follow up with those that you have invested
into their life for the glory of God and see how they are progressing and they may need
another point of encouragement. Hopefully that individual you have helped will go and
with their life help somebody else. So we pass it along. But there is a time, my friend,
and a season for healing. I ask you, do you need healing? Perhaps this is your hour and
it is the Lord that wants to do it that He may be glorified. I will share with you a
song the Lord gave me to write, years ago called Come Pour Your Oil And Wine. Taken
from the Good Samaritan story. I pray it will be a blessing. For me, it is a prayer. Lord,
pour your oil and wine into my wounds - because I need to be whole so I can be sound for His
glory. I pray itll be a blessing to you. That youll continue to be a blessing to others.
Come pour your oil and wine in all our wounds, Oh Lord. Pour Your oil and wine in hearts
today. Heal all our open wounds, and mend our lives so ruised. Oh, Good Samaritan, so
good, so kind. Jerusalem to Jericho, a path of long ago, Depicts the human soul from birth
to death. Satan dares take his toll on body, life, and soul, Defeats their noble goal and
takes life’s breath. My raiment stripped from me, and wounds that will not free. Robbed
from Eternity and left to die. I yearn to follow Thee beyond Your Calvary, Lord, come
and rescue me, don’t pass me by! Come pour your oil and wine in all our wounds, Oh Lord.
Pour Your oil and wine in hearts today. Heal all our open wounds, and mend our lives so
bruised. Oh, Good Samaritan, so good, so kind. Along the road of life where men pass by our
way, A victim of its thieves alone we lay. So deep our secret cry toward men, who would
pass by, Thou, Good Samaritan, please pass our way. Lord, You alone can heal as our lives
we yield. You alone can free and bring man liberty. Your healing oil and wine can make
man’s face to shine And bring him life divine, Lord, only You! Come pour your oil and wine
in all our wounds, Oh Lord. Pour Your oil and wine in hearts today. Heal all our open
wounds, and mend our lives so bruised. Oh, Good Samaritan, so good, so kind. You may
be the one that God intended to hear this today. Maybe youre crying out O God, heal
my broken heart, my bruised life. Like the song, Lord heal our open wounds. Its those
open wounds that are dangerous because things get into that wound that hasnt
been medicated or bound up and bring infection. Its the same way in your spirit. You need
the oil and the wine of the Holy Spirit to come in and medicate and make it whole. You
need the Word to wrap and bind up your wound. Father, we ask You to lay Your healing hand
on those that are suffering with infirmities in mind, body, soul and spirit. In the name
of Jesus, we rebuke sickness, infirmity, the oppressions that the enemy would bring into
this individuals life. We command the healing of the Lord to be broken as precious bread
into their lives right now in Your holy name. That You may be glorified
and
You may be praised. In thy holy name I ask it. Amen.
