Hi! I'm Sean with Expert Village and I'm going to show you tips and tricks for doing math

in your head. Adding large numbers together can be difficult to do in your head. This

method will show you how to simplify it by making everything a multiple of 10. Let's

take the example of 238+644. These numbers can be hard to deal with, so let's round 238

up to 240. We'll round 644 up to 650. These numbers are a lot more manageable. Now we

add them together. 650+240=890. Next, we need to find out how much did we add to 238 and

644 in order to round them up. To do this, we do 240-238, which equals 2, and 650-644,

which equals 6. Add 2 and 6 together and you get 8. All that's left is to subtract the

8 from the amount we got originally, 890. 890-8=882, which is our answer. Whenever you're

doing math in your head, the most important part is being able to visualize the numbers.

The more you practice, the better you're going to get.
