To select tofu, there's many kinds you can choose from. We have probably the three most
common types right here. First we've got a soft spongy tofu, often referred to as "silken
tofu". And silken tofu, as you can see, is very soft to the touch. Silken tofu is often
use for shakes and smoothies, and also as crumbles for salads and soups. The next is
a medium textured tofu, which is a little bit firmer to the touch. Medium textured tofu
can be used for salads and sandwiches. It can also be used to grill. Firm tofu is much
more dense than the silken tofu. And it works really well on the grill or in stir frys or
anything that you're going to apply a lot of heat to it. It works really well for chilis
and salads and even for sandwiches. And that is how you select tofu.
