Protein and Weight Loss
By

When you’re on a weight loss program, how much protein should you be getting? That really
depends on how active you are. For people who are mildly active – they don’t do
that much physical activity – then they need about .4 gm of protein for every pound
they weigh. If you’re doing what I want you to do, say
spending 30 minutes at least five times a week doing some endurance activity – power
walking, using a stationary bike, elliptical machine or treadmill – then your protein
requirement goes up, so it now becomes .5 grams of protein for every pound that you
weigh. Now if you’re really working hard, let’s
say you’re doing five to seven days a week of endurance activity maybe 30-45 minutes
a day and you’re adding strength training on top of that, then you’ll need .6 or .7
grams of protein for every pound that you weigh. I know it sounds confusing, but I’m
going to explain it all to you. So now you might ask, what protein foods are
acceptable? The only ones that are acceptable, if you really want to lose weight and keep
it off, are the ones that have the least amount of saturated fat and cholesterol but offer
a good source of biological protein. How do you make this work? It’s all explained
in the three short videos available here. These videos are actually a part of my live
weight loss seminar where I will teach you all of the steps to make sure that you turn
your body into a fat burning machine and you get the weight off in the short term, and
in the long term. You also have to understand in terms of protein
just how to calculate where to get the protein you need. And in those videos I’ll show
you how to calculate your protein needs and how to find the number of grams of protein
in the accessible foods, so you’ll then understand how to choose the correct protein
foods that will add up to the total number of grams that are appropriate for you, based
on how much you weight and how active you are.
In combination with the other strategies presented on the videos, you’ll clearly understand
how to be successful in both short term and long term weight loss gain.
So be sure to watch the three short videos presented here that will help you convert
your body into a fat burning machine. They’re the same three magic principles I’ve used
with patients for over 25 years now to help them lose weight and keep the weight off.
