Prezi Tutorial

Uploaded by teachinglearninguoit on 06.06.2011

Let’s take a look at Prezi, a web-based presentation application and storytelling tool.
It’s different from your traditional slideshow as it uses a single canvas rather than one slide after another.
Prezi is the dynamic alternative to Powerpoint and other slideshow software and can be used for all of your presentations.
How does Prezi work and what makes it so unique?
Text, images, videos and other presentation objects are easily placed on the infinite canvas and grouped together in frames.
The canvas allows users to create non-linear presentations, where viewers can zoom in and out of a visual map.
This makes the presentation a lot more visually interesting than your typical slideshow.
A path through different objects and frames can be defined, representing the order of the information to be presented.
Finally, the presentation can be developed in a browser window, and then downloaded so you can view it even without an internet connection.

Let’s take a look at how to get started using Prezi.
First go to
In the top right corner press Sign up.
As a student you get free access to the Enjoy account.
Simply click on Student/Teacher Licenses and select Edu Enjoy.
You will need your student email to sign up.

Once you confirm your account sign in and go to Your prezis and click New prezi.
Add a title and brief description about your presentation and your ready to begin.
Prezi is incredibly easy to use and makes creating presentations fun.

First of all, the interface is very easy to navigate.
To move around the canvas simply click and drag.
To zoom use your scroll wheel or the zoom buttons located on the right toolbar.
In the top left is the Prezi toolbar which allows you to add all your content and change different settings.
Let’s have a look at the options:
Use Write to add text. Simply click anywhere and add an idea.
Use Frame to organize your ideas into groups, similar to slides.
Use Path to create an order for the information to be presented.
Use Insert to add pictures, videos and shapes to the presentation creating more visual interest.
Finally, use Colors and Fonts to instantly change the entire look and feel of your prezi.
At any point you can click an object to edit it using the Prezi Transformation Zebra.
With it you can easily: Move the object around
Change the size
Rotate it
Edit the text
Or delete it.
While using Prezi don’t worry about losing your work as it automatically saves your presentation every few minutes.
You can always see the last save time on the top toolbar.
Next to that are Undo and Redo buttons to make quick changes in case you make a mistake.
Once you have added all your content, added your frames, created paths and chosen you desired look, you are ready to show off your work.
Simply click Show and use the arrows to cycle through your presentation elements.
