Homemade Mashed Potatoes Recipe : Add Butter to Mashed Potatoes

Hey guys, my name is J, and I'm talking to you on behalf of Expert Village. On this clip
I'm going to kind of show you about adding the butter. What I did was I melted butter
in this little measuring cup with pepper in it. I'm going to pour that around all the
potatoes. Now since the pan is hot, the potatoes are going to start cooking in this butter.
You want to add the onion that we chopped earlier. Kind of let some of those onions
cook down at the bottom. Again, the moisture is still coming out of all these potatoes,
the onions are getting rendered in all that butter that we got down there. And we're almost
ready to start mashing. Probably drop the heat down just a little bit, guys. You can
bring it down to a low-medium heat. As you can see there's still a lot of steam coming
out of here, the moisture of all the onion, and moisture of all the potatoes is all coming
out of there. I still haven't even started mashing but it's almost ready guys. I'm going
to show you on the next clip what I do. Thanks.
