MIKE SPINELLI: Hey, welcome to Drive Central.
It's Mike Spinelli, and we're here to tell you all the
things going on on Drive this week.
I've got Leo Parente helping out.
LEO PARENTE: Another Sunday night with Mike.
MIKE SPINELLI: Yes.
Isn't this great?
It's not 2:00 AM anymore, like last week.
LEO PARENTE: We're getting better.
MIKE SPINELLI: We're figuring out how to do this so that we
get to you before the shows that you're going to watch
this week. @Drive is where you'll hit us up on Twitter.
You don't have to say "at" anymore, I guess, right?
Just Drive on Twitter.
LEO PARENTE: But you do need to let us
know what you're thinking.
MIKE SPINELLI: Exactly.
And what you think of the things that
you're seeing here.
LEO PARENTE: Such as?
MIKE SPINELLI: Like TUNED.
This week, Matt Farah is taking some tuner
cars out on a runway.
LEO PARENTE: Like a Project Runway?
What is he doing?
Is this a Heidi Klum thing?
MIKE SPINELLI: It's a Heidi Klum thing.
LEO PARENTE: It's a cheap excuse to meet Heidi Klum.
-How old are you?
-Eight.
-Eight.
I'm gambling with an 8-year-old on
racing right now.
Here we go. $5 on the E63, right?
And you're on the BMW 135.
Oh my god.
I just got smoked.
Wow!
Look at this.
I have now lost $10 to him.
The kid keeps taking my money.
-Yeah, that's right I took his money, right from this guy.

[END VIDEO PLAYBACK]
MIKE SPINELLI: That's TUNED every Monday here on Drive.
LEO PARENTE: That's the best trip to an airport I've seen.
MIKE SPINELLI: Better than a cavity search.
LEO PARENTE: There you go.
TSA.
MIKE SPINELLI: Also, on Live and Let Drive, Alex Roy is in
El Salvador again.
LEO PARENTE: Still?
MIKE SPINELLI: Yes, still.
This time he went to check out the late-night street racing
and car show scene.
LEO PARENTE: Oooh, late-night drinking and drifting.
MIKE SPINELLI: And an 800-horsepower
Subaru STI, I believe.
-So I see that you and your brothers have some of the best
modified Subarus I've seen anywhere, not just in El
Salvador.
-[TRANSLATOR SPEAKING SPANISH]
-Tell me about your car.
-[TRANSLATOR SPEAKING SPANISH]
-[SPEAKING SPANISH]
-[TRANSLATOR]
Well, this is a Subaru 2005.
-[SPEAKING SPANISH]
-[TRANSLATOR]
We have invested in the engine around $45,000.
-OK.
-[SPEAKING SPANISH]
-[TRANSLATOR]
And it goes around 800 horsepower.
-800 horsepower?
-[TRANSLATOR]
Yeah.
-This is why you need the Brembos.
[END OF VIDEO PLAYBACK]
MIKE SPINELLI: That's Live and Let Drive, every
Tuesday with Alex Roy.
LEO PARENTE: And we're done with El Salvador?
We're moving on?
MIKE SPINELLI: Yeah, moving on to some other place somewhere.
Also, Chris Harris, this week--
LEO PARENTE: Our Chris Harris.
MIKE SPINELLI: Our Chris Harris goes to someplace where
the jokes write themselves.
Let's take a look.
-I've only got a few hours in the car.
I wanted to collect the car from Munich airport, get in
it, drive south, go to this location I think has a synergy
with the car, and then leg it back.
The real reason was to actually experience the car at
high speed.
I want to use this car as it's going to be used.
So pick it up from Germany, head south to a ski resort.
I've got my four-wheel drive.
I've got my security.
I've got a derestricted Autobahn.
And that will show off the M550dX drive to its perfect
capabilities.
[END VIDEO PLAYBACK]
LEO PARENTE: He makes Drive Central.
MIKE SPINELLI: Yes, he does.
He makes magic every Wednesday.
LEO PARENTE: [BLEEP].
He makes part of Drive Central.
There's more.
MIKE SPINELLI: That's right.
Because Shakedown is part of it, too.
That was an excellent, excellent segue.
LEO PARENTE: Isn't that a good segue?
An arrogant segue?
So--
MIKE SPINELLI: What are you talking about this week?
LEO PARENTE: I have no idea, but here's why.
Because at the end of next week, I'm going to be on the
road driving that Palatov at SimRaceway at the Sears Point
Driving Performance School.
MIKE SPINELLI: Also known as Infineon.
LEO PARENTE: Infineon.
MIKE SPINELLI: Right.
LEO PARENTE: So we're going to be recording both Shakedowns
beginning of the week.
MIKE SPINELLI: Very cool.
LEO PARENTE: Don't ask me what we're going to talk about.
It'll be a race recap and God knows what.
But the Sears Point trip--
MIKE SPINELLI: I mean, you're going to be driving this car.
LEO PARENTE: This trip's getting out of control.
MIKE SPINELLI: Well, the Palatov is a really--
Palatov's car, I mean, he's been working on it for years.
And it's finally going to be in production.
If you love Radicals and Altimas and those specialty
track cars, this is going to be awesome.
LEO PARENTE: It's a little awesome track car.
It's why the trip's getting out of control, because we're
going to be driving that.
The thing has a lap time like a minute, 1.5 seconds shy of
an Atlanta car.
So I've got to up my game.
But then on Friday--
MIKE SPINELLI: So back in the saddle for you a little bit.
LEO PARENTE: We'll find out.
MIKE SPINELLI: OK.
LEO PARENTE: But then on Friday, Allan McNish shows up
at the track.
And we're going to probably do a little bit of Shakedown
University stuff with a real driver, Allan.
MIKE SPINELLI: Cool.
And Allan is definitely a real driver.
LEO PARENTE: It'll be in future
Shakedowns, and that's it.
MIKE SPINELLI: I can't wait to see it.
And that's Drive Central for this week.
And we'll see you next week.
Again, @Drive on Twitter.
Hit us up.
Later.
