Let’s take a look at the Differential Diagnosis Generator, or DDX.
To open the DDX, you can use hotkey “X” or by using the Quicklinks Menu..
The DDX allows you to input a patient’s symptoms, lab findings and physician exam findings.
and find a differential diagnosis.
When you make a selection the symptom will show up in blue
Push the BlackBerry button to confirm your selections or remove any undesired symptoms.
Conditions are rated on a scale from 1 to 5, 5 being the most likely,
and critical conditions will be shown in bold
You can also filter the results of your search based on your patient’s
gender and age, as well as the severity, etiology, and onset of symptoms
To filter, push on the trackball to see your options
Push the BlackBerry button to confirm your selections
Let’s select Carbon Monoxide, this will take you directly to detailed
information in the PEPID database
