For the last three days, the Gleboczek Hotel was a venue for the seminar on new ways of looking on a human body.
The basic assumption of Anatomy Trains is that body does not function as parts.
The concept of single muscles and separate organs do not exist in a living body.
Everything is connected and together creates a functional living unit.
It means that the manual medicine as we know it today, in the next hundred years can really drastically change.
Until now, we were analyzing human body in a very mechanistic way, looking on a single muscle as being responsible for the movement in a given vector
but when we look on a body as a system connected by a fascia, everything is changing into something much more complicated
Another words it`s plastic. So if I take a piece of plastic and I pull that piece of plastic open.
and while healing the movement patterns of our clients, we need to look much more wider than just on one dysfunctional muscle.
The seminar was lead by a international specialist in the manual therapy, who specializes in a fascial structural work, Tomas Myers.
Body is held together with a biological fabric. It`s not dissimilar to the fabric that hold together clothes but it has a special properties to it.
It`s called fascia or connective tissue and this connective tissue has a property of being able to be stretched and hold the stretch.
Another words it`s plastic. So if I take a piece of plastic and I pull that piece of plastic open.
It would stay open it would not snap back like a plastic back. So we make use of that property.
Because when people hold the body for a long time in one position this fabric becomes short
and unless you open it up which you can do by stretching or you can do with rehabilitation, manual therapy.
Than you can get the body to come back to it`s original length. This is used a long for a full range of people who had surgery or injury.
Because after injury or surgery this fabric gets short as a result of the injury.
So you can restore it after injury but it`s also used for athletes or actors or dancers.
People who are trying to get to the top of their performance because just the thing that happened to you in childhood
or even attitudes that you take from your parents can create shortness in this fabric which will stop you to get into the top of your performance.
The course lasted three days. During this time, apart from the theory, there was also a practical part.
The subject of our meeting is Anatomy Trains. It is a concept of myofascial conections, which shows how muscles are connected in a human body
and create a long structures which act like a construction lines, supporting the posture of a body.
During this three days we will analyze all the myofascial meridians that has been distinguished by Tom in his concept.
We will start from superficial to deep structures, so as the participants could learn the techniques
and gain the ability of assessment of all superficial as well as deep myofascial meridians and to change the patterns of their clients.
