Transcript:
SAILORS ABOARD THE NIMITZ-CLASS AIRCRAFT CARRIER, USS JOHN C. STENNIS, CONDUCT A GENERAL QUARTERS
DRILL SIMULATING VARIOUS CASUALTIES THROUGHOUT THE SHIP.
"JUST LIKE THE OLD SAYING, WE TRAIN LIKE WE FIGHT, AND WE FIGHT LIKE WE TRAIN. THIS WAY,
IT KEEPS EVERYBODY'S READINESS AT A PEAK LEVEL. WHEN SOMETHING DOES HAPPEN, OUR GUYS ARE TRAINED
AT A LEVEL THAT THEY'RE READY. THEY GOT THE EXPERIENCE AND THEY KNOW THE PROCEDURES, AND
WE GO THROUGH THIS AT A REGULAR BASIS."
BEING THE NAVY'S ONLY DEPLOYED CARRIER, PREPARATION IS A PRIORITY ONBOARD THE STENNIS.
"I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT FOR SAILORS TO TRAIN BECAUSE WE HAVE TO BE READY FOR ANY SITUATION.
THE MORE WE TRAIN, THE BETTER OFF WE ARE IN THE LONG RUN FOR THE ACTUAL EVENT THAT MAY
HAPPEN."
MANNED AND READY, FROM USS JOHN C. STENNIS, I'M PETTY OFFICER CLAIRE FARIN
