This video explains how to replace the ink cartridges in your printer.
The power must be on for the following steps to work. If the printer is off, press the
Power button to turn on the printer. Open the cartridge access door. The carriage
will move into the center of the printer. Locate the tab on the ink cartridge that needs
to be replaced. Press the tab inward to unlatch the cartridge. Remove the ink cartridge from
the printer. Remove the new ink cartridge from its packaging.
It is very important that you use the orange pull tab to remove the plastic. This will
properly expose the vent slot in the top of the cartridge.
The next step is to remove the orange plastic cap from the cartridge. Place the cartridge
in one hand and twist the orange cap counter-clockwise with your other hand to snap it off. It may
take substantial force to remove the cap. When handling the cartridge, be careful not
to touch the electrical contacts or print nozzle. Touching these can cause clogs, ink
failure and poor electrical connections. Make sure you install each cartridge into
it’s correct slot. Match the color and shape of the cartridge with the color and shape
that are on the print head assembly. With the cartridge contacts facing the printhead,
slide the cartridge into the empty slot. Press down on the cartridge until it clicks firmly
into place. When the new cartridge is installed, close the cartridge access door. Your printer
is now ready for regular use.
