To begin, you will need a frozen ice pack or package of frozen vegetables.
Place a towel on the area in pain and put the ice pack on the towel.
Do not place the ice pack directly on your skin.
Leave the ice pack on the area for fifteen to twenty minutes.
Do not exceed twenty minutes.
Heat therapy is usually used in conjunction with ice therapy.
To begin, use a moist hand towel.
Place the moist towel in the microwave and heat for two minutes.
Let the towel cool in the microwave for thirty to forty-five seconds.
Place the heated towel on the area in pain for fifteen to twenty minutes or until it begins to lose heat.
