Hi I'm Nick and welcome to One Minute Six Pack. Today’s video is about a ridiculous
junk food that adds belly fat, but for some reason, is allowed to be advertised as “healthy”.
The crap I’m talking about is low fat peanut butter, which is sometimes labeled reduced
fat peanut butter. Before I get into why this product is so deceptive, I want to say something
about the “low fat” mentality in general. This may come as a complete shock, especially
if you’ve bought into the whole “fat is bad” mindset: But the truth is, just because
a food has fat in it, doesn’t mean it’s going to make you fat.
In fact, if the food has healthy fat, among other benefits, it’ll actually help your
body BURN fat. Be careful though, don’t justify overeating fatty foods on the basis
that they have healthy fats. Too much of a good thing can be bad too. Now the worst thing
about low fat peanut butter is that the healthiest part of peanut butter has been removed. In
place of those healthy fats, they’ve added the following: (1) several different types
of sugary syrups, (2) dehydrated cane juice, which is just another fancy name for SUGAR,
and (3) they’ve also add refined starches. These things are like poison in your body,
and will lead to weight gain and stomach fat.
When buying peanut butter, the healthiest choice would be one that only has 2 ingredients:
(1) Peanuts, and (2) Salt. Usually the organic versions are the best. Be sure to avoid brands
that add harmful hydrogenated oils. And definitely avoid low fat peanut butter and reduced fat
peanut butter. That's all for today's video. To learn more about how to lose belly fat
