Kokam Sharbat Recipe

Today we will prepare Kokakm ka Sherbet.
Kokkam trees are found in Goa and southern India.
It is mainly used in Goa, southern India, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
The outer skin of the Kokkam fruit is removed and dried.
It is sour and is also used in dal, curries to make them sour.
The pulp of the Kokkam fruit is used to make oil and is also used for medicinal purposes.
Kokkam is a great choice for making Sherbet as it gives coolness and is delicious.
When the days get too hot make Kokkam Sherbet and drink, it will bring down the body heat.
Ingredients required:
Dried Kokkam - 1/2 cup
(these have been soaked in hot water 30 minutes earlier to make Sherbet)
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Roasted Jeera (cumin seeds) - 1 tsp
Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
Mint leaves - 5 to 6
Black salt - 1 tsp
Firstly we have to grind Kokam to prepare the Sherbet.
Put Kokkam in a mixer along with sugar.
Kokkam is grinded so pass it through a strainer.
All of the pulp is collected after straining and now preparing Sherbet won't take long.
All we have to do is dissolve it in water.
Add black salt, roasted Jeera and black pepper (optional).
Kokkam ka Sherbet is ready to serve.
4-5 glasses of Sherbet can be made with 1/2 cup Kokkam.
Garnish with one mint leaf in each glass.
Cool Kokkam Sherbet is ready which has been made using fridge water.
If you prefer your Sherbet more cold then add crushed ice to it.
Kokkam contains cooling properties and is an anti-oxidant too.
