Here we will be showing you how to replace the halogen bulbs for your front overhead console lights for the 2011 Hyundai Sonata
as you can see
we have already installed an LED on the driver side
let's go ahead and show you the process for the passanger side
open the sunglass holder and remove the two screws using the philips head screwdriver
once removed
use the rounded edge of the wedge tool to pry loose the rear of the overhead console
pull down to remove
once you have removed the consule
release the large white connector
by pressing down on the tab and pulling away
there are four screws holding the two pieces of the overhead console together
you will need to remove all four to get access to the bulb
with the screws removed
use the rounded wedge tool to pry between the two pieces
once you've created a separation
release the clips on the left and right side to remove the cover
with access now to the bulbs
remove and replace with the LED bulbs
test the lights by plugging in the white connector
before reassembling the overhead consule
if the LED does not work
rotate the bulb 180 degrees to reverse polarity and try again
to access the vanity mirror light
use the flat end of the serrated knife tool and insert between the plastic housing and the
headliner
to release the housing slowly wedge and pry down
once removed
you can disconnect power from the black plug for easier access
remove the old halogen bulb and replace with the new LED bulb
make sure to test the bulb prior to reinstallation if the bulb does not work
rotate 180 degrees to reverse polarity and try again
to remove the lens covering the rear dome light
use the flat end of the serrated knife tool
wedge between the outer plastic housing and the lens and pry loose
remove the old halogen bulb and
replace with the new LED
make sure to test your bulb before reassembling the housing
make sure to adjust the LED board so it points straight down
for best light output
as you can see we've installed an LED on the driver's side license plate light
lets finish up and show you how to install the passenger side light
using a philips head screwdriver or drill
remove the two screws holding the lens cover in place
the bulb housing is made up of two parts
hold the grey bulb socket and rotate the black housing counterclockwise to release
the halogen bulb may be hot
so you should use a towel or wait for the bulb to cool down before removing from the socket
insert the LED replacement and test light output
the trunk light housing can be removed by releasing the latch and pulling down with your pointer finger from the top
remove the housing from the black connector
by pushing down on the black plug and pulling away
the bulb will be hot so use a towel to remove the halogen bulb
or allow enough time for the bulb to cool down
replace with the new LED bulb
and point the LED board down so it illuminates the cargo area
plug the housing back in and test for light output
if the bulb does not turn on
rotate 180 degrees and test again
