We often make different Sabzi at home butt if these Sabzi are prepared in different style or way they will like be more.
Today we will make Gobi matar masala.
Let’s see what all ingredients are required for making Gobi matar masala.
Cauliflower - 400 grams (florets) (wash twice in water)
Green peas - 1 cup (frozen) (can also use fresh peas)
Paste - 3 tomatoes, 2 green chilly, 1 inch ginger piece and 10-12 cashew nuts
Green coriander - 2-3 tbsp (finely chopped)
Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
Asafoetida - 1-2 pinch
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Garam masala - ¼ tsp
Red chilly powder - ¼ tsp
Salt - 1 tsp (as per taste)
Dry fenugreek leaves - 1 tbsp
For making Gobi matar masala roast the masala first.
If you prefer making Sabzi instantly then use two utensils or make it in same pan.
So in one utensil roast masala and in second utensil boil florets and peas.
Preheat pan and add oil into it.
Place florets and peas in other utensil for boiling.
Add 1 cup water.
Cover the pan and boil for 5 minutes.
When oil starts blazing add cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, dry fenugreek leaves, coriander powder.
Sauté the masala for while
Now add tomato-green chilly-ginger- cashew nuts paste.
Also add red chilly powder.
Cook until oil starts floating on the surface.
We have ground cashew nuts with tomato and ginger for making gravy thick and will taste more pleasing.
But you can use sesame seeds, khus khus, coconut, peanuts and so on for thickening the gravy and make it more appetizing.
Use whatever you like eating.
After 5 minutes check florets
Florets have become tender. Don’t over cook them.
Add half the amount salt into florets and add half the amount of salt in masala.
Masala is also ready now.
Mix Gobi matar masala in the masala
Also add garam masala and green coriander.
Add water accordingly for making gravy.
Cover the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on low flame so that all spices get absorbed in the vegetables.
Sabzi is ready; now take it in a serving bowl.
Luscious Gobi matar masala Sabzi is ready.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
This much quantity can be served to 4-5 family members as a side dish.
Serve with chapatti, parantha or rice.
