Welcome to the 38th National Cadet Marksmanship Championship!
On Saturday May 5, 2012 Cadets from across Canada
arrived at Québec City Jean-Lesage International Airport
to participate in the 38th National Cadet Marksmanship Championship being held in Valcartier
a competition which is the culmination of a year of effort to qualify for this event.
There are just a few additional administrative steps
before the registration and official opening
of this challenging and entertaining experience begins.
Under the watchful eye of staff
and guests, Cadets are carrying their provincial flags
entering by order they joined Confederation
and making their official entrance to the competition.
Hockey has been adopted as a theme
to this 38th National Championship.
LCol Albert, Director Cadets 2 - Coordinator
has been given a mandate to proceed
with the official opening of the Championship.
“I declare the 38th National Cadet Marksmanship
Championship open and wish competitors
to have success and fun.”
This first training day allowed Cadets
to make adjustment under the watchful eye of coaches
giving them last minute advice to better perform.
They could also familiarize themselves
with the standing position, a new position introduced officially
to the competition.
Enjoying a highly electronic target system
Cadets can see their very precise results
showing up automatically
on a small computer fixed to their right.
Now that they are ready and very enthusiastic
they will start their first official competition on Monday.
