SHEENA DIMATTEO: Glee hits DVD and Blu-ray, Newsies hits the
stage, and Snow Patrol hits the dance floor.
This is Just Dance for September 8, 2011.
What's up, dance fans.
It's me, Sheena.
I know a lot of you are getting really crazy and stir
crazy because there hasn't been any Glee in a long time,
but what will hold you over until the third season of
Glee, season two is coming out September 13
on Blu-Ray and DVD.
You're going to see a lot of bonus footage along with a
slew of extra features.
There's Sue's quips, Santana slams, a day in the life of
Brittany, many, many, many things that are going to keep
you very happy, I have a feeling.
Glee fans aren't the only ones starving for their new season.
I know a few Dancing with the Stars fans who've been
salivating all summer waiting to watch their favorite stars
bust a move on the dance floor.
We've just gotten word of who's going to be partnering
up for season 13.
Let's check out the duos.
George Clooney's ex-girlfriend and actress, Elisabetta
Canalis, will be partnering up with Valentin Chmerkovskiy,
while his hunky brother Maks hits the floor with Hope Solo.
Basketball player Ron Artest will be tangoing with pro
newcomer Peta Murgatroyd.
Chaz Bono will be paired with Lacy Schwimmer, a veteran of
So You Think You Can Dance and five-year pro.
Reality star Kristin Cavallari will be paired up with Emmy
nominee Mark Ballas.
Legal analyst Nancy Grace will be hitting the floor with
newcomer Tristan MacManus.
Pro Cheryl Burke has already won Dancing
with the Stars twice.
Will she bring home another victory with her partner Rob
This will mark Anna Trebunskaya's eighth season as
she dances with former Queer Eye for the Straight Guy star
Carson Kressley.
Derek Hough makes his return with Ricki Lake.
JR Martinez and Karina Smirnoff pair up.
Tony Dovoloni will make his move with Chynna Phillips.
And film star David Arquette will take the floor with
two-time champion Kym Johnson, who we can't forget took home
the crown last year with my favorite Steeler football
player, Hines Ward.
The two-hour premiere of Dancing with the Stars drops
September 19 at 8 o'clock on ABC.
So set those DVRs.
When I think of Snow Patrol, I think of that epic love song
they wrote, "Chasing Cars".
But they are coming out with some really cool songs lately,
and one of them is called "Called Out in the Dark".
The music video for this just dropped and it's actually a
really funny music video.
The lead singer, Gary Lightbody, starts out being
kicked out of the band while they're shooting the video.

SHEENA DIMATTEO: Just Dance got to hang out with the
choreographer for this video.
Let's see how it went.
NOEMIE LAFRANCE: Hi, I'm Noemie LaFrance, I'm the
choreographer for the Snow Patrol video
"Called Out in the Dark".
It was a lot of fun, and about this idea of being on a sound
stage, and everything not really working out, and Gary
being pushed out of the video, worked really well with Jack.
He didn't want to dance though.
I really liked that flashlight effect.
That really came out nice.
Because when you're working on it from the inside, you don't
know exactly how things are going to come out.
And we were working mostly on everything
that's on the stage.
We didn't see what was going on with all the B-camera
stuff, so I feel like the narrative of the whole thing
kind of came together really good.
The story of him trying to get into the video and all that,
even though we didn't get a sense
completely of all that stuff.
But, yeah, I thought that came out really nice.
And this music, it felt really good to dance on.
There was some moment that were really inspiring to me to
create movement.
SHEENA DIMATTEO: Did you guys catch Chris Brown's
performance on the VMAs?
I don't wake up every day thinking about Chris Brown
but, after that, I kind of do.
I'm really excited about his tour coming up.
It's the Fame Tour.
It's starting off next week in Toronto, on September 12.
Tons of dancing is going to be on that stage by
choreographers Rich and Tone.
It's definitely going to be worth checking out.
Stop the presses.
The 1992 cult classic movie musical, Newsies, has finally
been adapted from screen to stage.
The world premiere is happening in Millburn, New
Jersey, on September 15 at Paper Mill Playhouse.
I've seen a few sneak peeks of this and I just have to say
the dancing in it is redunculous!
Completely phenomenal.
SHEENA DIMATTEO: The 63rd annual Emmy Awards are airing
live Sunday, September 18, hosted by Glee's own Sue
Sylvester, Jane Lynch.
Glee is all over the board.
They have nabbed so many nominations including
Outstanding Comedy Series.
Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance are
both nominated for Outstanding Reality Competition Program.
And both hosts, Cat Deeley and Tom Bergeron, have been
nominated for their hosting skills.
But as a dancer and choreographer myself, I am
super stoked about the Outstanding
Choreography category.
I've been looking over all the videos and trying to make my
professional opinion.
There's Mark Ballas from Dancing with the Stars, the
only choreographer not from So You Think You
Can Dance to be nominated.
His routines from Chelsea Kane last year were really cool,
and I remember thinking they were awesome.
But we have three contemporary choreographers.
The legendary Mia Michaels, also Mandy Moore and Stacey
Tookey with some really cool routines and duos from So You
Think You Can Dance season seven, and also we have the
dynamic duo Nappy Tabs, Napoleon and Tabitha, with
their crazy hip-hop routines.
I personally think Travis should take it.
He's my personal favorite.
So they're all in the mix.
I'm really excited to see who's going to come
out with the win.
All right, there's all the nominees for the
choreography Emmy.
I want to know what you guys think.
