So now I'm going to talk about how to set up your bike for road riding. If you don't
have a road bike and you say you have a mountain bike there is a lot of things you can do to
it to make it a lot more street friendly. The first thing you can do is get rid of the
tires on it from having these big knobbies to a really slick narrow high pressure street
tire. That is going to make the bike perform a lot faster and it is also just going to
give you better performance overall on the road. It is going to make it a lot easier
for you to ride. The other thing that you can do is change the gearing on the bike.
You can go to bigger chain rings on the bike which is going to make the bike actually go
faster on the road. Other than that that is pretty much all you would have to do. Those
are the things to look for when you are setting your bike up for road riding. The biggest
thing to look for is what tire choices you are going to go with. There is a couple different
things. You could go with a full slick like this here which is a really narrow high pressure
tire. It is going to grip really well in pretty much any sort of terrain but it is a really
soft rubber compound so you've got to make sure that it is filled up to the proper PSI.
You could also go with something a little bit wider but not as aggressive, something
like this tire here which is still going to give you a lot better performance on the road
rather than having a knobby mountain bike tire.
