Three Days In Charlotte

[Attendee #1] I'm just super excited. Like, on a scale from one to ten, I'm at a ten, eleven.
[Attendee #2] This is my first convention. So it's pretty exciting to be here. I can't
wait for the First Lady. She's amazing. She's the person that can relate to all of us.
[First Lady Michelle Obama] How are you guys. The key is to not fall off the stage.
That would be success. Not falling off the stage.
[Reporter] How's the speech?
[First Lady Michelle Obama] You tell me tomorrow.
[Maya Soetoro-Ng] It's good to get this injection of energy and exuberance, and to
see all of these terrific people. And to be reminded of all that has happened in the last four years.
[Julian Castro] We're only getting started. Opportunity today. Prosperity tomorrow.
[Craig Robinson] It's been just an absolute honor to be able to represent my family, our
families, and the country. I'm a little bit more nervous when she goes on, than when
I go on. It's funny how that works. I'm like not nervous for myself, I'm more nervous
for her, but I know she'll do a great job. I'm looking forward to hearing what she says.
[First Lady Michelle Obama] When the challenges we face start to seem overwhelming or even
impossible. Let us never forget that doing the impossible is the history of this nation.
It is who we are as Americans. It is how this country was built.
[Crowd] Fired up, ready to go. Fired up, ready to go. Fired up, ready to go. Fired up, ready to go.
[First Lady Michelle Obama] How about that opening night last night.
I'm a little sleepy, but I'm so happy to be here today. And I know you're here today because
you believe, like I believe, that my husband has been an extraordinary President.
[President Barack Obama] Hello. Outstanding, outstanding supporters. Hi, give me a hug
Tammy. Where you from?
[Tammy] I'm from Hickory, North Carolina.
[President Barack Obama] Hickory, North Carolina. Well it's so nice to see you. Thank you
for all your support, We're so proud of you.
[Tammy] My friend Judy want to say hi.
[President Barack Obama: Judy says hi?
[Tammy] Yes, she loves you. Don't be mad. [laugh]
[First Lady Michelle Obama] Oh, that's okay, I love him to. Everybody can love him.
[President Bill Clinton] Now, people ask me all the time, how'd we got four surplus
budgets in a row? What new ideas did we bring to Washington? I always give a one-word answer.
We simply cannot afford to give the reigns of government to someone
who will double down on trickle down.
[Kal Penn] Put it up on Twitter this morning. They loved the stuff, so.
[Vice President Joe Biden] Great being with you man.
[Kal Penn] Thank you. You too sir. Thank you very much.
[Announcer] Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden.
[Vice President Joe Biden] Hey Delaware.
Bravery resides in the heart of Barack Obama and time and time again I've witnessed him
summon it. This man has courage in his soul, compassion in his heart, and a spine of steel.
Thank you so much. Thank you Delaware.
[First Lady Michelle Obama] The President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. [cheers]
[President Barack Obama] Yes our path is harder, but it leads to a better place. Yes our road
is longer, but we travel it together. We don't turn back. We leave no one behind. We pull
each other up. We draw strength from our victories and we learn from our mistakes, but we keep
our eyes fixed on that distant horizon. Knowing the providence is with us and that we are
surely blessed to be citizens of the greatest nation on earth. Thank you. God bless you.
And God bless these United States.

[President Barack Obama] Let's make this official buddy. We're going to keep on going
through these. Right here. We are officially the candidates. Alright brother.
[First Lady Michelle Obama] Yeah!
