Saddle up and put on your mx googles! Cause it's time for the Red Bull Romaniacs.
It's dirty it's hard and it makes grown man cry.
5 days of dirt, pain, exhaustion and sweat. Get ready and start your engine, it's the
Red Bull Romaniacs
When I'm not racing, I'm either fixing a truck
or driving a truck. That's what I do. That's what Taddy does, that's what Dougie does but
you know that's it. I work for living they don't.
What I'm doing when I'm not riding a bike. You got me stumped there.
I spend most of the time doing rider coaching. So I teach people, take people out, teach
some final points of enduro riding and some guys hard enduro riding.
I work a lot. I'm rebuilding my house. I spend a lot of time with my children. Especially
with my son, who is a trial rider. I work in a family business we own a manufacturing
business in South Africa. My parents allow me to train and ride when I need to. So I
can sneak away whenever I need to get some training and some riding.
That's what this is about. The help.
Well, I'm supported by my wife and my brother, they are here, they are my pit crew and my
help. I've got a fantastic personal life. I have
a really supportive fiance, Lisa. We are actually getting married this year on the
7th of August. I've got two kids, twins. 5 year olds. Spend
time with them. That's a good way to switch off and have a little bit of fun.
Unfortunately the family and Monico couldn't make it out this year. It's a big expensive
to get out from here from New Zealand. Maybe next year they will come out.
The bike ran absolutely perfect today. KTM was absolutely and 100 percent perfect. All the
little problems we had were solved. Fixed it and just pulled it all day.
The first person I'm calling will be my wife Monica, because she will be right awake sitting
on the bed at home. It's 2 o'clock in the morning waiting for me to call.
Yeah, just happy to finish really. I'm quite tired today and made a lot mistakes but I'm
glad to be at the finish point. I went from the unluckiest guy to the luckiest.
By far it's 4 days of the hardest thing I've ever done and I don't think I will be riding
my bike for 3 weeks so when I get back home. It was good and I will definitely come back
next year. After the 3 fucking days it was good today
and yeah. I've got to come back next year. I will go
for the win next year. Yeah definitely. I can't let someone else take my number one place.
