Hey, I'm Keri Glassman here with some quick and simple tips to help you feel just a little
bit better. Today is the fourth in my series of Five Forever Foods! These foods are versatile,
delicious, and good for you. So much so, that you should keep them on your permanent grocery
list now, always and forever! It's time to give quinoa a chance. Yeah, yeah you've been
hearing about it but have you tried it yet? Quinoa is gaining popularity for its many
health benefits, and chances are if you do a little digging you'll find a recipe that's
perfect for you and your family. If the health benefits don't draw you in, consider the culinary
angle. Quinoa has a natural, subtle nuttiness flavor that works well savory or sweet. It
is equally at home as a side dish, a salad, a main course, or even as a dessert. Quinoa
pudding anyone? Sick of oatmeal this winter? Swap in quinoa. Add almond milk, a handful
of chopped of nuts and cinnamon and you'll think you are in a country inn in Vermont.
Want to cut your chances of developing heart disease? Swap out that burger at lunch for
a hearty quinoa salad – it goes deliciously with chickpeas, and dried fruit. Is it lunch
time yet? Quinoa is the only grain that has all nine essential amino acids. It's also
a source of healthy fats and other nutrients with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
So remember: Quinoa is a wonder-grain that tastes great and is great for you. Adding
it to your grocery list will help you feel just a little bit better.
