Forever Foods: Greek Yogurt | A Little Bit Better With Keri Glassman

Hey, I'm Keri Glassman here with some quick and simple tips to help you feel just a little
bit better. Today is the third in my series of Five Forever Foods! These foods are versatile,
delicious, and good for you. So much so, that you should keep them on your permanent grocery
list now, always and forever! Plain nonfat or lowfat Greek yogurt is way more useful
than you might think. Sure, you can just eat it by itself or add a little honey or some
berries. But its true genius lies in its ability to fill in nicely in place of some food imposters!
Greek yogurt is thick and creamy, and can be the base of almost any dip. From sweet:
Greek yogurt mixed with pureed berries. To or savory: Add your choice of herbs, spices
and mustard and voila, bring on the veggies to dip in! Try mixing 2 tablespoons of Greek
yogurt with 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard for a light tangy sauce you can use on sandwiches
or veggie burgers or dip your kale chips in. If your kids love that prepackaged macaroni
and cheese, instead make your own with whole wheat pasta, a little olive oil, a little
parmesan cheese and Greek yogurt instead. Way more nutrition and no junk! In case you
didn't know Greek yogurt has 2 times the protein as traditional yogurt and just as much calcium.
So remember: If you're looking for a versatile, healthy food that can replace items like cream
or mayo and you want to add nutrient boost to your meal, well, then add Greek yogurt
to your grocery list and you will feel just a little bit better.
