Today we will make aloo anardana (potato with dry pomegranate)
With flavor of desi ghee and dry pomegranate the taste of potatoes gets more appetizing.
If going out or for a picnic, pack aloo anardana with parantha or poori.
Let’s see what all ingredients are required for making aloo anardana.
Potato - 4-5 (boiled) (300 grams)
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Dry Pomegranate - 1 tsp
Green chilly - 1 (finely chopped) (optional)
Coriander powder- 1 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Red chilly powder - ¼ tsp
Garam masala - ¼ tsp
Salt - ¾ tsp (as per taste)
Firstly peel potatoes for making aloo anardana.
Turn on the gas as well.
Add ghee in pan.
Cut each potato into 4-5 small pieces.
Add cumin seeds, asafoetida powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder.
Also add green chilly and sauté the masala for a while.
Now add potato pieces, salt, and red chilly into it.
Cook on medium flame until they turn crispy.
Stir after every ½ minute.
Potatoes have become crusty.
We have cooked potatoes for 5 minutes.
Now add garam masala and pomegranate in potatoes.
Cook for 1-2 minutes and cook like this.
Aloo anardana is ready; take it out in a bowl.
Lip smacking and delicious aloo anardana is ready.
