Harira Recipe for new Mother.

Today we will make harira.
It is given to new mother and is so delicious that even we all can enjoy eating it.
Let’s see what ingredients are required for making harira.
Jaggery - 1 cup (200 grams) (small pieces)
Cashew nuts - 8-10
Almonds - 8-10
Apricot - 4
Green cardamom - 4
Nutmeg powder - less then ¼ tsp
Carom powder - ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Ginger powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
Desi ghee - 2 tbsp
Firstly dissolve jaggery in water.
Place jaggery in any utensil and add 1 cup water for 1 cup jaggery.
Turn on the gas and cook until jaggery gets dissolved in water completely.
Meanwhile cut dry fruits.
Make 7-8 pieces of cashew nuts and like wise cut almonds and apricots also. Peel cardamom and make powder from it.
Jaggery has dissolve din water now turn off the gas.
Now we will make harira.
Preheat a pan and then add ghee into it.
Also add cumin powder, ginger powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds powder and sauté for few minutes.
Add dry fruits and sauté them as well for few minutes. Add almonds, cashew nuts and apricot.
Don’t over cook it. Just sauté for 1-1.5 minutes.
Now add melted jaggery the pan after straining it.
Doing this helps remove the impurities.
Cook on medium flame until it becomes thick.
Also add cardamom powder and nutmeg powder.
Check the consistency of harira. For this take 1-2 drops and see if it sticks to your finger.
Harira is ready. Turn off the gas.
Take it out in a bowl.
Very delicious harira is ready.
It can be stored in refrigerator for up to 10 days.
Give 3-4 tbsp harira to new mother but before serving make it little warm.
It is very beneficial for new mother as it provides energy and keeps her healthy.
