How to Prepare & Deliver a Wedding Toast : Wedding Toasts: What To Do

Uploaded by expertvillage on 30.09.2008

All right, not let's talk about some things that your wedding toast should be. It should
be no longer than five minutes. Most wedding toasts are--three minutes is a really good
mark. And you want to write it and you want to practice it and time it, because you might
think it's under five minutes and it's way over five minutes or vice versa. So, should
be about five minutes or less. Make sure that it is warm and genuine and sincere. You don't--and
what I mean by that is you don't want to just be talking like you're giving a speech. Let
the love and care you have for these people shine through. Let your genuine happiness
drive your delivery of the speech. Make it very personal. Bring a personal event, talk
as if you know these people, which you--I mean, I'm sure you would, but make it very
personal. And keep everything brief. You don't want to go on and on about any particular
part of the wedding speech. Keep everything about the same length. And a real important
thing about wedding speeches is it is great to use humor, but if you're not funny, don't.
Just don't do it.
