Need for calm, nature or escape?
Ideally situated in Loire Atlantique, in the Blain area and South Britanny, on the edge of the Gâvre forest and less than 100 meters of the canal from Nantes to Brest, “Le Nid d’Omer” welcomes you to your rest, the four seasons of the year.
Eric and Dominique receive you in 2 guest rooms, 3 ears of corn ”Gites de France”, surrounded by flowers and greenery.
The guests often ask Dominique and Eric, what attracted them to settle here?
>> Dominique: Before we lived in the Nantes area, and often are looking for a place to escape, and we thought canal from Nantes to Brest or forest Gâvre. It's a perfect change of scene and less than one hour drive from Nantes.
My husband, Eric, immediately understood that this atypical farmhouse could be adapted to our project .. as for the garden ... we have crushed!
Two guest rooms of a different style, Barel and Bougard, names of the locks near our guest house. Bougard is accessible to handicapped persons.
>> Dominique: We're at Bougard, which is the combination of wood and stone. And for the story, we revisited what was known at the time "the corners beds". These are beds that belonged to my parents. David, joiner of our hamlet, has made these headboards.
>> Dominique: Here is the second guest room, Barel, located on the first floor of the house. This room is from our imagination, some guests see a garden, others a “sea side” and sometimes I think it's a bit of both.
We can even have your head in the stars, here you can see the "Big bear" and then, we had pleasant dreams.
Guests have free wireless access at "Nid d'Omer." Very handy for those who wish to work on their computers!
To prepare the breakfast, each morning Dominique finds Pascale at the small market of Saint Omer Blain, she privileges local products. She relies on Eric for making specialty breads and homemade jams.
>> Dominique: What I really like in breakfast, it's time to exchange with the guests, and when I see them smile and they are happy and well, I can say that it’s successful and that the day good start for everyone.
And if I can serve them outside, it is the icing on the cake!
Florist by trade, Eric and Dominique will share their passion for flowers and garden, or will exchange with their “guests gardeners”.
Dominique makes its final touch in each room, with seasonal flowers.
"Le Nid d’Omer" is an ideal stopover, between Nantes and Redon, ranked “Vélo Accueil” and near to the way of “Saint Jacques de Compostelle”
"Le Nid d’Omer" is also a rural gite, 2 ears of corn “Gites de France”, with a capacity of 3 persons, available at the week, or in the longer stay.
Mechanical music enthusiast, Eric and Dominique, may, if you wish, turn the handle to the barrel organ and ... why not carry a tune!
