After my daughters grow up, hopefully the values that i've been able to instill in...
them are that you others the way you want to be treated and if you're telling...
someone else how to live their life, well you wouldn't want someone else telling...
you how to live your life. You're not - you're not - treating others the way you...
would want to be treated and to me that's wrong. Well, to me marriage means...
two people that love each other and want to spend, you know, the rest of their...
lives with each other. There is no difference between a gay household...
and a heterosexual household in in raising a kid. If both parents are
committed and loving to each other, then they're providing a stable and nurturing...
environment for that child to be raised in and -and - really that's, that's what...
children need. Well, I think when i first came in the League, um...
in 2005, there were a lot of uh... the older, the older veterans.. the
nine and ten year guys...
You know, not, not... quite as tolerant because that's - that's the way they grew up. These younger kids...
coming in, they're a lot more tolerant -- they're a lot more believing in...
the rights and freedoms of other people to live how they want to
live,
...because they realized
...it doesn't affect me!
If i want to get married, I can go get married. If someone else wants to go get...
married, they should be able to get married. It's our government's...
...responsibility is to give us a framework in which we can form a society and
then be free to act within that society.
It's, it's... not the government's job to tell us what to do. That's not what...
...America was founded on, that's - that's - not what America stands for.
I hope people will vote no because at the end of the day, this is an ultimately...
...an issue about freedom, it's an issue about living your life the way the that you...
want to live it, free from the oppression of others.
To me, it's about treating other people the way...
...you would like to be treated. It'll save that Minnesota...
...believes that people should be treated equally, no matter what their beliefs,
no matter what their race, no matter what their gender. It's - it's - it would be very powerful...
if the State of Minnesota could send that message.
