DEVELOPING STORY OUT OF SOUTHERN
VIGO COUNTY TONIGHT.
THAT'S WHERE TWO PARTIES IN A
PROPERTY DISPUTE HAVE
AGREED TO A DEAL. COBBLESTONE
CROSSINGS SAYS
IT WILL BUILD A STONE WALL NEAR
ITS NEIGHBORS IN
WOODGATE SUBDIVISION. THIS,
AFTER AN OUTCRY FROM
HOMEOWNERS NEAR THE CONSTRUCTION
SITE.
HOMEOWNERS SAY VIGO COUNTY AREA
PLANNING OVER-STEPPED
ITS AUTHORITY AND CHANGED ZONING
IN THAT AREA WITHOUT
PUBLIC INPUT. THAT ALLOWED
BUILDERS TO
START CONSTRUCTION ON A NEW
HOUSING
DEVELOPMENT.
IN A BREAK IN THE CASE,
HOMEOWNERS LEARNED NORM
FRODERMAN, AN AREA PLANNING
BOARD MEMBER HAD FINANCIAL
INTERESTS IN COBBLESTONE. THAT
CAUSED VIGO COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS TO ISSUE A STOP
WORK ORDER TO COMPLEX
BUILDERS. BUT TODAY -
COBBLESTONE
BUILDERS AND HOMEOWNERS REACHED
AN INFORMAL
AGREEMENT. COBBLESTONE WILL
BUILD A
WALL ALONG THE WOODGATE
SUBDIVISON'S PROPERTY LINE.
HOMEOWNERS SAY THEY HOPE THE
WALL BRINGS CLOSURE TO THE
ISSUE. [B3]COBBLESTONE
UPDATE-SOT
"WE CERTAINLY BROUGHT IT TO
LIGHT I THINK WE MADE A LOT OF
CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS AND I
THINK THEY'VE TAKEN THOSE ON
BOARDS"
HOMEOWNERS ASKED FOR THE WALL -
IN HOPES IT WOULD SAVE
THEIR PROPERTY VALUES. ALL OF
THE CHANGES MUST
BE APPROVED BY THE VIGO COUNTY
AREA PLANNING COMMISSION.
PLANNING LEADERS ARE SCHEDULED
TO MEET AGAIN
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3RD.
